Best Castle Locations in V Rising: Secrets of Gloomrot
There are many good locations to pick from when settling down your castle after the Secrets of Gloomrot update. The three best regions are Farbane Woods, Gloomrot South, and Dunley Farmlands.

Farbane Woods is the southernmost region of the map and it’s somewhat detached from the others, at least at first glance. However, the Cave Passage system has been reworked to make it more favorable.
You can now find Cave Passages in Dunley Farmlands, Silverlight Hills, Gloomrot, and the Cursed Forest. Every one of these passages is a one-way trip to Farbane Woods now!
It’s quite easy to return to Farbane now if you’ve been out exploring the other regions, so it’s much less disconnected than it first appears to be.
All territories in this region are also easy to defend from sieges since they all have some sort of geographical advantages, such as moats and a low number of entrances.
The image above shows all the cave passage exits in Farbane Woods and which region leads to them.
On the other hand, Dunley Farmlands is another fantastic region for you to build in due to its central nature.Its territories are harder to defend, however.
Dunley rests at the very middle of the map so it has the easiest access to every other region.
Lastly, Gloomrot South is also a fantastic location for your castle, especially in the southwestern part of the region.
Southwestern Gloomrot is a very defensive area due to the number of chokepoints in the territory. Additionally, it’s close to the Silverlight Hills region which you will visit often for endgame materials.
The spot marked in the image above is an ideal castle location.
No matter which one you pick, you can’t go wrong by building your castle in any of these 3 regions.
