One of the coolest additions to the Gloomrot update comes in the form of a rework for the Cursed Forest. Now, if you venture into the forest, you’ll get a stacking debuff called the Curse of the Forest.

What this debuff does is basically causes your immediate surroundings to be shrouded in mist. Your minimap will be covered as well. As such, exploring the area becomes a lot trickier.

This can be really annoying, especially if you visit there trying to farm some materials. Don’t worry; you can easily remove it using a single item!

You will become inflicted by the debuff as soon as you step inside the Cursed Forest.

Initially, its effects won’t be that noticeable. However, as the stack gets higher and higher, your surroundings will start to get foggy until your vision becomes quite limited.

Your minimap won’t be visible at this point, so unless you know your way around the forest, you will inevitably get lost. Luckily, you can get rid of the Curse of the Forest debuff quite easily.

To do so, you only need a single piece of equipment which is called the Shroud of the Forest. To unlock its recipe, you first need to defeat a new V Blood boss named The Old Wanderer.

He’s not a particularly difficult encounter, so as long as you are within his level, you should be able to take him down quickly. After that, you’ll then unlock the recipe for the new cape.

The best part about this cape is that you can craft it within your inventory. You only need 200x Pristine Hide, 200x Plant Fibre, and 20x Ghost Shroom to craft it.

After that, simply equip the Shroud of the Forest and you’ll then notice the Curse of the Forest stacks decrease quickly.

That said, the cape is mediocre stat-wise. In fact, it doesn’t offer any attributes at all. The only real benefit you can get from it is the fact that it makes you immune to the curse.

Other than that, it’s pretty much worthless in other regions. Due to that, you want to switch to your main cape before you enter combat to benefit from its attributes.
