There are two bows that always have players wondering which is the best in Throne and Liberty: the Toublek bow and the Karnix bow.

Both of these weapons are at the very top of the Longbow weapon category, so players always go for one or the other. That said, picking the right one for you is easier said than done, as they both have different pros and cons. But what exactly are these pros and cons, anyway!?

In this article, we’ll help you decide which one of these two endgame bows is the best for your build!

Now, before we get started, let us be clear from the get-go: which bow is the best for you in Throne and Legacy will depend on your build and preference, as both Toublek and Karnix have their pros and cons. Neither of these bows offers a “one size fits all” solution.

As such, all we can do is explain the use cases for both and let you decide which one works best for you!

Toublek’s Deathmark Longbow

Toublek's Deathmark Longbow

First, Toublek’s Deathmark Longbow or just Toublek from now on. At Level 9, Toublek’s bow has the following stats:

  • 56 – 174 Damage
  • 0.64s Attack Speed
  • 11.2% Cooldown Speed
  • 9 Dexterity
  • 19.2m Attack Range
  • 27 Wildling Damage Bonus

It has the unique “Toublek’s Trick” effect, as well. When you land a Critical Hit on an enemy that has less than 25% HP, your Critical Hit will deal an extra 75% of your Base Damage. As it says, it only works on Critical Hits and it has a Cooldown of 6 seconds.

This effect is, honestly, somewhat underwhelming. It can help guarantee a kill on weak enemies, but a regular Critical Hit on an enemy that’s already under 25% HP should already be enough on its own. So, we don’t really consider the effect itself worthwhile.

What is worthwhile, however, are the other stats. The 9 Dexterity makes it perfect for builds trying to hit the 70 Dexterity breakpoint and the 11.2% bonus to Cooldown Speed makes it much easier to manage your skills.

If you don’t know about the stat breakpoints and their benefits, check out our guide about stat distribution.

The long 19.2m Attack Range also makes it fantastic for taking out enemies while staying safe far away, making it ideal for larger PvP fights. However, it also means that Toublek’s bow doesn’t pair well with the Staff as it outranges its spells.

Karnix’s Netherbow

Karnix's Netherbow

Now, let’s take a look at Karnix’s Netherbow or simply Karnix. It has the following stats at Level 9:

  • 56 – 219 Damage
  • 0.70s Attack Speed
  • 174 Critical Hit Chance
  • 16m Range
  • 11 Strength

The Karnix has the unique “Karnix’s Eye” passive effect, as well. This effect increases your Range by 9% and also applies to any party members within a 16m radius. Since this effect is always passively applied to you, the Karnix really has an Attack Range of 17.4m instead of the 16m listed!

This bow also has pretty high base damage on its own, which pairs well with its innate Critical Hit Chance increase. On top of that, it has a slightly faster Attack Speed than Toublek’s, too. If you want to deal high damage constantly, this is your best bet!

What’s more, its 11 Strength also makes it a good choice for any build relying on Strength. It makes it easier to reach the 50 Strength breakpoint which increases your chances of landing Heavy Attacks. This, in turn, further increases the Karnix’s bow damage. However, it does make the bow less useful to pair with weapons that rely on Dexterity instead, like Daggers.

Toublek vs Karnix Bows: Our Verdict in Summary | Throne and Liberty

Bow Gameplay

Ultimately, as we’ve said, which is the best bow between the Toublek and Karnix in Throne and Liberty depends on your build and preference.

Toublek is better for any build that’s trying to reach the 70 Dexterity breakpoint, and its longer Range also makes it fantastic for sniping foes. It sees the most use in PvP due to this, as you can take out players before they become a threat. The faster Cooldown Speed also makes it ideal for pairing with weapons like the Wand & Tome for a healer build.

Karnix is better if you want to play as a pure DPS and are trying to hit the 50 Strength breakpoint. It provides very consistent high damage, so you can’t go wrong with it. The buff to your entire party’s range is always useful, as well. Plus, the bow’s range itself is just perfect for not outranging weapons like the Staff.

Bow Gameplay

So, there you have it, that’s our verdict on which is the best bow in Throne and Liberty between the Toublek and Karnix bows. We hope this helped you decide which one of these powerful bows to use on your build!
