The Basilosaurus is an aquatic dinosaur that has a whale-like appearance and even shares some of its characteristics. Characters or tribes that have a Basilosaurus will be able to explore the underwater safely as most creatures will avoid it, except for the larger ones like the Mosasaur or the Tusoteuthis.

Due to this, as well as the fact that it’s immune to shock and stun by the Cnidaria and Electrophorus, makes it a favorite aquatic tame by many players. So if you’re interested in taming one, you just need to know where it spawns.

In this guide, I’ll show you the main spawn locations of the Basilosaurus in Fjordur.

Basilosaurus Spawn Locations Guide in ARK Fjordur

Despite being a huge aquatic creature, the Basilosaurus actually prefers swimming in shallow water. In fact, it even appears to heal a lot quicker when in shallow waters. On the flip side, it will instead drown and die when you take it to the deeper parts of the sea.

As such, you’ll want to look for the Basilosaurus not deep underwater but near the surface. You can easily spot it swimming with smaller creatures like the Mantas and the Ichthyosaurs. As far as its spawn locations are concerned, there are three main areas in Fjordur that you can have a chance of spotting one.

First is on coordinates 62.0, 89.7. Another is on 62.1, 86.1. Basically, you just have to scour the area of water that separates the main island from the volcano. The third spot is on coordinates 31.6, 99.9 which are on the left side of the map, a bit far away from the map.

I highly recommend bringing both a flyer and an aquatic tame. This way, you can easily scout for any Basilosaurus spawning in any of those locations.
