There are a total of seven Archons in the game, collectively called The Seven Archons or The Seven for short. They are hailed as gods who each preside over one region out of the seven regions in Tevyat.

Now, these Archons take on the form of a normal human, so telling who is an Archon can be a bit challenging.

So, what are the attributes that make an Archon? And how can you tell exactly if a certain character is an Archon? Let’s find that out in this guide.

What Makes an Archon | How to Tell if a Character is an Archon in Genshin Impact

As mentioned, there are seven Archons in Genshin Impact. These are Barbatos, Raiden Shogun, Zhongli, Kusanali, Tsaritsa, Murata, and Hydro Archon.

Now, there can be a lot of fakeouts when trying to identify if a character is an Archon or not. One particular fakeout is the color of their eyes. Most players tend to associate characters’ eyes that have the same color as their element as an Archon.

However, that is not the case. This is because several characters such as Shinobu, Miko, Ayato, Diluc, Ayaka, and more exhibit the same trait but are not Archons.

Another fakeout is characters who have lighter-colored pupils. A few good examples include Xinyan, Diona, Yelan, and Beidou. However, they are not Archons either.

That said, by far the only means of telling that a character is an Archon is through the glowing highlights of their hair. However, you can only be able to tell it whenever a character uses their skill or burst. For example, each time Zhongli uses a skill, the highlights of his ponytail will glow alongside a few particle effects.

The same can be said for Raiden’s long braid as well as Venti’s twin braids.
