If you want to focus on using longswords in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, you should consider picking up the best longswords.
There are dozens of longswords to pick from, considering both the unique and generic ones. Plus, every weapon in this game has a different quality tier that greatly affects their stats. As such, it can be quite hard to figure out what’s the best at just a glance…
Fret not, though! Read on and we’ll tell you the 5 top longswords in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, from the worst to the best in the game.
Best 5 Longswords in the Game | Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
#5 – Broad Longsword
Now, we’re including this in our list of the best longswords in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 due to its availability. This is the best longsword you can get early in the game, while you’re still in the Trosky region. It’s commonly found at the Nebakov Fortress.
Ideally, though, you want to craft your own Broad Longsword. You can find its Sketch at the Trosky Castle Armory, so you can get it relatively early. Level up your Craftmanship Skill and you’ll be able to craft higher Tier variants of it, which have better stats. Blacksmithing isn’t easy, though, so be sure to check out our Blacksmithing guide!
Now, here are the stats for the Broad Longsword in all of its different Tiers:
Going over the details for this one would be a bit spoilery. To keep things as spoiler-free as possible: you’ll get this sword naturally through the game’s story. You can’t miss it, so don’t worry about it! By the point you get it, though, it’s sure to be your best bet unless you’ve already managed to craft a Tier III Broad Longsword.
Now, you can also reforge this sword to make it even stronger, potentially turning it into the best in the game. However, we advise against doing so, at least currently. It will prevent you from obtaining the true best longsword in the game later on. Whether that’s a bug or intended, we don’t know. Either way, we’ll go into more detail later on in this guide when we talk about our number 1 best longsword!
Nonetheless, here are the stats for Radzig Kobyla’s Longsword at its default Tier III:
Stab Damage – 128
Slash Damage – 122
Blunt Damage – 24
Defence – 220
Durability – 179
Weight – 3.4
#3 – Master Menhart’s Longsword
You can get this longsword as a reward for completing the “Ars Dimicatoria” side quest in Kuttenberg City. This quest will, amongst other things, require you to steal the Kuttenberg Brotherhood’s guild sword for Menhard von Frankfurt. Complete the quest siding with him and he’ll give you the sword as a reward.
Now, this sword comes at either Tier II or Tier III. It’s somewhat uncertain what defines its Tier, but it seems to be somewhat related to your Swords Skill level. The higher it is, the more likely you are to receive the Tier III version, which is ideal.
This sword’s main drawback is that it counts as a quest sword even after the quest is done. As such, you can not reforge it to a higher Tier of quality. Nonetheless, here are the stats for the Tier III variant:
Stab Damage – 164
Slash Damage – 157
Blunt Damage – 31
Defence – 285
Durability – 220
Weight – 2.1
#2 – Tier IV Dueling Longsword
Next up, the good ol’ Dueling Longsword. You can ideally get this weapon up to Tier IV by smithing it yourself, though it’s quite a hard one to make. Like all other Tier IV weapons, you’ll need to level your Craftsmanship up to Level 16 and the “Martin’s Secret” Perk to be able to make it. That said, the fact that you don’t rely on a quest or story progression makes this one pretty accessible.
By far the best of all the longswords in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. One thing to be wary of, though: you need to keep the default Radzig Kobyla’s Sword to be able to make the most out of Henry’s Sword later. We mentioned this back when we talked about Radzig Kobyla’s sword, remember?
Radzig Kobyla’s Sword can not be made into a Tier IV weapon, as it’s a quest weapon. Reforging it will also prevent you from reforging Henry’s Sword to Tier IV. Whether it’s a bug or not, the game will currently fail to give you the recipe to reforge Henry’s Sword if you already reforged it as Radzig Kobyla’s Sword.
In summary, keep Radzig Kobyla’s Sword and reforge it only once it becomes Henry’s Sword later in the story. You can then reforge Henry’s Sword up to Tier IV, making it easily the best longsword in the game! Here are the stats for Henry’s Sword at Tier IV:
Stab Damage – 199
Slash Damage – 190
Blunt Damage – 38
Defence – 299
Durability – 240
Weight – 1.9
That’s the end of our list of the 5 best longswords in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. Remember, you can also apply Poisons to your weapons to make them even better. It’s a good trick if you don’t mind fighting dirty!
