Overwatch 2 is one of the top hero-shooter games in the world right now. It blends in the badass shooting gameplay of a classic FPS(First-Person-Shooter) game and integrates it with a team-based MOBA style that requires teamwork to win games. As such, Overwatch 2 is a game that requires teamwork to win and this is best accomplished with your friends. But what if your friend is on a Console like Xbox or Playstation while you’re on a PC? Will you guys be able to play together?
The good news is that you can. But, not a lot of players are aware of how. This guide will help teach you how to add friends for crossplay. Let’s dive into it.
How to Add friends for Crossplay?
To add friends on Overwatch 2, you need their Battle.net ID. If you guys don’t know how to find your Battle.net ID, it’s conveniently located on your name when you hover your mouse over it in the main menu.
In the example below, you will need to pick up the beside the name. In this case, it would be “#1778”.
Once you’ve got your friend’s Battle.net ID, press social on the right side of your name. In your socials tab, there is a friends tab.
The Friends tab has the list of all your added friends. This is also where we’ll be adding friends. To add friends, press the Add friend button on the right side.
This will bring you to the Add friend menu. In the blank space, just type in the Battle.net ID of your friends to add them directly to your friend list. And once you’ve added your friend just go to their name and invite them to your party or game.
It’s that simple. Overwatch 2 already has a built-in crossplay mechanic, so playing with your friends from other devices is as simple as adding them like you’re on the same device.
An additional tip, you can also see the random players you’ve played with on public servers in the Recent Players Tab. So if you have a stranger that you fancy playing with, you can add them on this tab.
