The Finals has officially launched with Season 1, and most eager contestants in this game should first try out the Medium Build.

They’re the most balanced class archetype, and a good Medium Build player can pretty much ensure their team’s victory.

If you’re ready to master this class, continue reading to know the best loadout options and some key tips.

Complete Medium Build Guide for Season 1

Medium Build Playstyle Basics

The Finals Medium Build gameplay

The Medium Build is, as the name implies, the most balanced between Light and Heavy. While the Light focuses on offense with its blinding mobility, the Heavy focuses on defense with its tankiness.

That leaves the Medium as the support-oriented class. It’s easy to use and well-balanced in combat, but its primary role will be to aid teammates.

As such, you could say that the Medium Build is the team’s backbone, in a way!

If you’re ready to be a team player, then this class is perfect for you.

Specializations

Medium Build's loadout

The three Specializations for the Medium are as follows:

  • Healing Beam – A short-distance beam that heals allies, very easy to use.
  • Recon Senses – Throws a tracker that allows you and your team to see enemies through structures.
  • Guardian Turret – A deployable turret that automatically attacks enemies in its line of sight.

Which one you pick will depend on your team’s composition and preferences.

Ideally, though, you will want to leave the Guardian Turret behind. It’s just not as useful as the other two, and a well co-ordinated enemy team can easily take it out.

So, that leaves us with either the Healing Beam or the Recon Senses. Healing Beam is best if you want to ensure your team’s survivability, while the Recon Sense can help you and your team prevent ambushes.

If there are two Medium class players in your team, one should have Recon Senses while the other keeps the Healing Beam.

Best Weapons

The two best weapons for the Medium Build overall are the AKM and FCAR assault rifles. Which one you pick would depend on your playstyle.

The AKM is better if you feel like your aim needs some work, as it’s more lenient and has a larger magazine. Its damage output is somewhat lower than the FCAR, though.

On the other hand, the FCAR is better if you are confident in your aiming skills. It has higher damage output than the AKM, but requires tighter precision and has a smaller magazine.

These are by far the most consistent weapons for the Medium Build.

As for other options, the Model 1887 shotgun is fantastic for quick kills in close-range encounters. Light Builds can go down in a single shot, while other Mediums and Heavies will just take 2 or 3 shots.

The R.357 revolver is also great if you have godlike aiming skills, as it’s highly accurate and has really high damage. It can be hard to hit agile enemies like Light Builds, though, and the reload is far too long.

Lastly, the CL-40 grenade launcher and Riot Shield are probably best to ignore, at least currently in Season 1. They just don’t really mesh well with the Medium Build’s support-oriented playstyle.

Best Gadgets To Choose

Medium Build's goo grenades

The Medium has a lot of gadgets to use, including almost every type of Grenade and Mine. Pick any of the grenades and mines will generally depend on what you expected the enemy team to use.

Remember, there’s a rock-paper-scissor element to grenades in this game. For example, smoke grenades destroy flames, but flames destroy gases.

Defibrilator gadget in use

However, most important for the Medium, are their unique gadgets. And the most important of all is the Defibrillator!

The Defibrillator allows you to instantly revive your teammates instead of taking 5 seconds. It’s generally considered the best gadget in the game, so every Medium Build player should have it.

Additionally, you should pack the Jump Pad as well. You can lay it down for you and allies to use, boosting your entire team’s mobility. Heavy Build players will be especially thankful for it!

Jump Pad placed

So, now you should have 2 out of 3 slots filled out with must-haves. What about the third and final slot, though? Well, that is up to your personal choice.

Some players pack Frag Grenades for damage, while others prefer Gas Mines for area denial when defending. Others also just prefer the Sonar Grenades to make it easier to spot enemy players.

It’s ultimately up to you and what you feel you need the most during matches. Just make sure you always pack the Jump Pad and Defibrillator alongside whatever you pick for your third gadget!
