The Finals has only been out for about a week by now, but the meta is certainly evolving in some interesting ways early in Season 1, though Light Builds are having troubles.
That doesn’t mean Light Builds can’t compete, though. They have some particularly powerful tools and loadouts that can quickly turn the tide of any match.
In this guide, we’ll tell you what the best-in-slot tools are for the crafty and agile Light Builds.
Best Light Builds Loadouts in Season 1
Specialization
Let’s kick things off with the Specialization. While all three of the Light’s specializations are great, the Cloaking Device is currently dominating.
It recharges quickly and can be used to sneak up on unsuspecting enemies, or even to help you escape from fights that aren’t going your way.
Some players think it’s a bit too good, but you absolutely need to have a trump card like the Cloaking Device if you’re playing the squishy Light Build.
The Evasive Dash serves a similar function, though it’s generally not as versatile or powerful.
Lastly, the Grappling Hook is fantastic for mobility but it’s usually unnecessary and you’ll just wish you had the Cloaking Device instead.
Weapons
Next up, the weapons. The most powerful and common right now are the SH1900 shotgun and the XP-54 SMG.
The SH1900 deals insane damage at close range, leaving even the Heavy Builds in a world of pain. It pairs up perfectly with the Cloaking Device!
On the other hand, the XP-54 is more of an all-rounder weapon. It has solid damage, it’s fast, and it has decent range. Not as powerful as the shotgun, but more versatile.
Which one you pick is ultimately up to your preferred playstyle. Though you can just keep one in your active loadout and keep the other in reserve, just in case!
Gadgets
In terms of Gadgets, the most powerful tool in the Light Build’s arsenal is turning out to be the Glitch Grenade.
It disrupts other contestants’ abilities, specializations, and gadgets. You can even instantly shut down the Heavies’ shields, which can expose them and their team!
Considering how the meta is currently evolving in The Finals, Glitch Grenades are a must to shut down some of the most oppressive tactics.
Breach Charge is also great, as it’s the only tool the Light has to really destroy environments.
Similarly, the Goo Grenade is great for makeshift barriers and blocking enemies’ paths. A lot of players like to combine the Goo and Pyro grenades, igniting the Goo for area control and damage.
Lastly, Frag Grenades are also great to deal quick damage. You can throw them around corners and bounce them off walls to reach enemies in cover while staying safe. Very important, considering Light Builds only get 150 HP!
All in all, the Light Builds have some powerful tools right now, even if they are the least favorite class to play amongst the player base in Season 1.
Venezuelan gamer cursed by being interested by most games, resulting in a ridiculous backlog he’ll never be able to conquer. Been gaming for over two decades now! Few things exemplify his wide variety in gaming tastes as the fact that he’s a big fan of both Souls games and the Atelier series at the same time. Also a big fan of Yakuza/Like a Dragon, Deadly Premonition, Zero Escape, and Dead Rising, among others. Considers Lost Judgment and Sekiro to both be masterpieces.
