Northgard is a game that allows you to build settlements and control a clan of Vikings to explore and defeat opposing clans. One of the few clans in the game is the Eagle which is easy to learn with this article.
How to Eagle in Northgard Guide
Eagle Clan is a strong clan for the early-mid game, and you need to utilize the clan’s strength and use it as frequently as possible. For Eagle Clan, Aviary replaces the Scout Camp. Aviary allows you to reveal buried caches on the map. These caches provide additional resources for your troops, such as food, wood, gold, lore, stone, and iron. Your Hawk turns cleared zones into boneyards providing natural resources from the zone and healing your units.
Aviary requires no building slots and increases the maximum number of hawks you can send to the boneyard. Falconers gain lore when scouting new zones and can open shipwrecks, ruins, sealed wolf dens, and drogger tombs outside your territory. The Eagle clan doesn’t gain Fame from colonizing new zones like the Raven.
The Eagle’s winning condition is attacking the opposing clan early before they can form large armies that can annihilate you. To do this, you must rush three aviaries as soon as possible to get iron and stone without building mines.
Build Order
First, build Aviary to scout your main tiles, then grab the first zone to make a house and woodcutters. Usually, you will need to get an iron tile if you need more iron for your first two caches.
If you need to clear a couple of tiles, build a training camp and make two warriors. Then, bring your falconers back to focus on food and make another woodcutter and a house.
Next, you need two Aviary, which will generate your resource caches even faster. Once you accumulate all the important resources, the trading post is next.
Before the winter, build a food silo and save up to 250 food in the first winter. Then make a Military Camp to summon your Chief. Lastly, make a Forge for your upgrade.
Iron Upgrade Order
You will need to upgrade your Food Units, Falconers, and Merchants in the following order. Then your secondary task is to upgrade your military units as much as possible. Remember that one or two military units upgrade is fine.
Stone Upgrade Order
You need to upgrade the four buildings mentioned on the picture and the rest of the stone can be traded for additional income.
Lore Order
Weaponsmith provides a lot of bonuses from cleaning tiles, so you don’t have to go to Sharp axes like any clan. For the second lore, go grab blood eagle, which causes a bird to blind the enemy, forcing them to miss their next three attacks.
Training Field is the happiness lore for Eagle. Foraging allows you to gain six percent more resources when closing exploring and closing the wolf’s den.
Get Coinage and Military Strategy to build a bigger army of around six to eight units to clear most of the neutral tiles. Rapine is the last lore you need before attacking a colony. This allows you to decolonize zones while healing your units which is effective with the rush and push playstyle.
