Last Epoch has just released Tombs of the Erased, which is one of the most substantial updates to the game and has brought new life to it as thousands of people are flooding in to check out all the new stuff. Whether you are a returning player or are a new one just joining in on the hype, here are some tips that might help you get started with this new update and season.
Tips & Tricks | Tombs of the Erased
Tip #1 – Do Not Worry About Build Too Much
Regardless of whether you are a newcomer or have played Last Epoch in the past, everything will feel really fresh and new with this huge update. Because of this, just pick whichever class and build you think looksappealing.
The game is extremely easy to learn compared to more complex ARPGs out there, and as far as we can tell, pretty much anything can be viable to some degree. Unless you are trying to sweat it too hard, you can be successful with pretty much anything you want to experiment with.
Respecs are easy to do here nowadays too, so even if you think you messed something up or have decided that you want to follow somebody else’s build, then there is not much to worry about.
In the event that you decide to use a “meta” build, there are a lot of prominent and seasoned theorycrafters out there, so you will have no trouble finding one that will resonate with your playstyle.
Tip #2 – Learn to Craft Gear
As an ARPG, finding good gear is going to be a major part of the gameplay loop. In Last Epoch, crafting is a viable way to upgrade your entire setup. Take the time to learn how to craft the appropriate gear for your preferred class and build.
To help you with this, we also have some old but still relevant guides on how to craft exalted items and also how you can make legendary gear. There have been plenty of updates over the course of the last year, but these will still help you once you get to the point where you can work with these systems.
There is a lot of trial and error involved when you are still unfamiliar with the system. Take your time to figure out how to tailor things to your specific build and you should be able to make your own powerful setup once you progress further in the game.
Tip #3 – Learn to Set Up Your Loot Filters
Last Epoch thankfully has a very robust loot filter system, and this remains true in the latest 1.2 patch. Explore this feature as early as you can, since this will be essential later on unless you want to deal with a lot of clutter and confusion.
This is going to be dependent on your own specific build, so we cannot give you exact advice on what you should be looking for. Instead, carefully study all of the gear you get as you progress through the game.
As you reach later levels, you will have a better idea of what types of items or even affixes that you are going to be looking for. For example, one of the things you can do early that will be greatly beneficial is to filter out normal items.
Just create a new rule where you set the visibility to “hide” and then add a rarity condition with the “normal” property selected. This should now hide every white rarity item, which are going to be completely useless to you later on.
When you finally have a better grasp of your build and how to improve it, you can start making much more specific rules and filter specific item types. Again though, this is all going to depend on your personal preferences.
Those are some of the tips we have for you if you are someone who is starting fresh. There have been a lot of changes to the game over time, especially with this latest patch. With all of the new and/or improved features, there is still a lot to discover at the moment, especially when you reach the late game stages of your career.
