If you want to quickly progress through Season 4 of Last Epoch, you’ll obviously need to level up as fast as possible.
Leveling in this game is pretty straightforward, of course. You just kill enemies and complete quests to get Experience. But surely there has to be a way to speed up the process to reach Level 100?
In this guide, I’ll give you tips and methods to help you speed up your Experience gain.
Fight Enemies Above Your Level

A simple tip, but a very important one for maximizing Experience gains, is to focus on fighting enemies above your character’s level. For that, refer to the Area Level. It shows up on the top right of the screen when you hold Tab by default.
If the Area Level is higher than your Character Level, you will get bonus Experience from defeating mobs. This caps out when the Area Level is 10 times higher than your level.
Of course, the level gap does mean that you’re at a disadvantage! You’ll need to feel out just how strong your build is at the time and look for areas with a level gap you can still handle.
Similarly, you should also focus on rare and elite enemies, as well. They give much more Experience than the standard trash mobs, as you might imagine.
Conversely, if the enemies are trivial and you’re way above the Area Level, it might be better to just run past mobs. Why waste time fighting them if they’re no threat and barely give Experience, right?
Use Shrines

As you explore the areas, you’ll sometimes come across Shrines like the one shown above. Interact with them to get a temporary buff, depending on the type of Shrine.
Some Shrines straight up give you a multiplier to all experience gained for a period of time. When you manage to find one of these, make sure to kill as many mobs as possible while the buff is active! Reap the rewards while you can.
Other than that, though, other Shrines can also help you level up faster. Some Shrines give you an attack buff, for example, which can speed up combat or even allow you to defeat enemies that are too tough normally.
Movement Speed is Important

If you’re still progressing through the game, boosting your Movement Speed can help you with leveling. The faster you can move around, the faster you run past weak mobs, the faster you can explore in general… just gotta go fast!

A good way to boost your Movement Speed early is to use Arboreal Circuit rings. They are fairly common as random drops, but you can also get them through the crafting system using Runes of Ascendance.
Monolith of Fate Leveling

When you reach the endgame Monolith of Fate content, there are some extra things you can do to help you level up fast. The first one is to do Echoes with the Tome of Experience rewards.
You’ll get a massive amount of Experience from these Echoes, making them much faster than just killing enemies. If you really want to focus on leveling, beeline it to those Echoes by only completing main objectives.

Later on, you can further increase your chance of obtaining Tomes of Experience. For that, first clear a Cemetery of the Erased to unlock The Woven as a faction. It’ll grant you access to the Weaver Tree.

In the Weaver Tree, you mainly want to go to the rightmost side of the screen. There, you can find a set of nodes (shown above) that allows you to block certain Echo Rewards. S, you can block everything but Tomes of Experience, nearly guaranteeing them.

Also, max out the Enthralling Bounty node left of the center of the tree. It’ll give you a chance of obtaining double Echo Rewards.

Lastly, I recommend doing the Fall of the Outcasts as your first Monolith of Fate.

Get the Grand Strength of Mind Blessing from the final boss there for a permanent 10% Increased Experience buff.
Making the Most of Empowered Echoes

Once you’re strong enough to take on Empowered Monoliths, they’ll be your best bet for Experience. These are harder, of course, but can also help you farm Experience much faster.
When doing Empowered Monoliths, look for another Cemetery of the Erased. Complete it and use the Weaver’s Altar at the end.
This will allow you to use Woven Echoes to place them as nodes within the Monolith of Fate. So, you can basically customize it so you get exactly what you want!

The basic setup for Experience farming here is simple. Place a Lostwood Folly node somewhere, then surround it with False Temple nodes. If any of these False Temples have Experience rewards, place a Sepulcher of the Lost next to them. This should look like the example above.
When everything is in place, you’ll want to start going through the Echoes by clearing the Lostwood Folly first. Then, clear out the False Temples and loot the Sepulchers of the Lost.
Essentially, the Lostwood Folly makes the False Temple have a lot more enemies. Conveniently, the False Temple is full of Shrines that you can use to make dealing with those enemies a lot easier.
Lastly, the Sepulcher of the Lost is just full of chests. The loot within those chests depends on the Echo Rewards of adjacent Echoes. So, placing it next to an Echo with Tomes of Experience will get you loads of tomes as loot!
Rinse and repeat this overall process and you’ll get a massive amount of Experience pretty quickly.
Wrapping Up
That’s everything you need to know to be able to level up as fast as possible in Season 4 of Last Epoch!
You can start applying basic tips, like focusing on stronger enemies, from the moment you start the game. But, of course, the Monolith of Fate tips are primarily for endgame leveling.
