Season 4 of Last Epoch, titled Shattered Omens, launched on March 26 and brings a significant overhaul to the game’s core systems. The centerpiece of the update is Omen Windows, a new horde based encounter that feeds into a chain of new mechanics, rewards, and endgame content that changes how you progress through both the campaign and the Monolith of Fate.
On top of that, the Rogue class gets two brand new skills, the Idol system has been reworked, a new pinnacle boss has been added, and itemization gets a high risk crafting layer that is going to make a lot of players nervous. This guide covers everything new in Season 4 so you know exactly what is waiting for you.
Everything You Need to Know About Shattered Omens (Season 4)
This season introduced a lot of new features. Let’s first get started with the Omen Windows which is a significant new addition to the game.
Omen Windows
Omen Windows are a new random encounter that can appear in both the Campaign and the Monolith of Fate, starting as early as Chapter 2. Entering the window area automatically begins the encounter.
The fight has two phases. In Phase 1, the Omen is invincible. You need to defeat Fractured enemies while staying inside a ring. Leaving the ring starts a 10 second countdown and failing to return in time ends the encounter. Killing enough Fractured enemies fills a progress bar which triggers Phase 2. The Omen then consumes the remaining Fractured enemies to empower itself and becomes vulnerable. Defeat it to claim your rewards.
Completing an Omen Window can drop Timeglass Fragments, Runes of Corruption, Corrupted Items, Omen Idols, and Idol Altars. Omen Windows come in multiple difficulty tiers with higher tiers dropping more Timeglass Fragments and better loot.
Greater Omen Windows spawn at the end of Omen Window Echo Chains in the Monolith of Fate. These are harder and have two Omens to defeat in Phase 2. Completing one forms a Timeglass Core which lets you either spend Timeglass Fragments to spawn an Echo Chain of your choice or shatter it for additional fragments.

Timeglass Fragments
Timeglass Fragments are a new currency you can spend by talking to Apophis, The Oracle at the center of the Monolith of Fate. They can be exchanged for Runes of Corruption, Omen’s Veil Woven Echoes, crates of Corrupted Items, and more.

Echo Chains
Echo Chains are a new feature in the Monolith web that spawns a series of special Echoes focused on specific rewards or content types. Season 4 launches with the following five types:
- High Stability Chains
- These chains will reward significantly more timeline stability than standard Echoes.
- Nemesis Chains
- These chains guarantee a Nemesis encounter in each Echo and end in a Conquered Tower.
- Rift Beast Chains
- In these chains, every Echo objective is to slay a Rift Beast, leading up to a new Echo called Primeval Cascade which features multiple Rift Beasts trying to ambush you.
- Omen Window Chains
- These chains guarantee an Omen Window in each Echo with the final Echo featuring a Greater Omen Window. The last Echo also contains a roaming Omen for each previous Echo completed on the first attempt.
- Pinnacle of Chaos Chains
- These echo chains guarantee both an Omen Window and a roaming Omen in each Echo, ending in the Pinnacle of Chaos, which is an Omen Window encounter filled with Champions instead of regular enemies.
After completing an Echo in a chain, a new portal appears next to the Monolith rock that takes you directly to the next Echo in the chain, skipping having to inspect the Echo web.

Monolith of Fate
In the Monolith of Fate, players will now get immediate access to all the regular timelines. The three level 90+ timelines on the other hand will be locked. To access those, you will need to seek out Elder Gaspar. He will instruct you to gather Knowledge Of Orobyss.
The Knowledge Of Orobyss can be gathered by completing the final two chapters of the campaign (Chapter IX & Chapter X) or by completing the other seven timelines. All of those reward you with a single Knowledge of Orobyss except the “Fall of the Empire” and “Reign of Dragons which gives you two. After getting five Knowledge Of Orobyss, go talk to Elder Gaspar to get access to the alternative timelines.

Runes of Corruption & Corrupted Items
Runes of Corruption drop from defeated Omens and are used in the Forge to modify equipment. The catch is that once you corrupt an item, it can no longer be modified in any way. It is a high risk, high reward mechanic and the outcome is never guaranteed.
When you corrupt an item, any of the following can happen. Affix tiers or values can change. Affixes can be added or removed. The item’s rarity can change. The subtype can change. Or in the worst case scenario, the item can become completely unequippable. If that happens, your only options are to sell it or keep it as a reminder of your mistake.
Amulet corruptions work slightly differently. They can convert existing attributes into new corrupted versions with different effects. For example, Intelligence can convert to Madness which grants Spell Critical Multiplier but increases bonus damage taken from critical strikes. Each corrupted attribute comes with both a benefit and a drawback so choose carefully.

New Corrupted Subtypes
Season 4 also introduces new corrupted item subtypes that can only be obtained through corruption. Each of these subtypes comes with a notable trade off so they are worth understanding before you start corrupting. There are a total of 12 new corrupted subtypes which are as follows:
- Singularity Belt: Only one potion slot but restores an Evade charge on potion use.
- Deadstar Amulet: 20-24% less damage over time taken and 42-60% increased damage over time output, but reduces armor by 42-60%.
- Corruption Binding: Eight potion slots but reduces health gained from potions by 31-37%.
- Corrupted Insignia: 13-19% increased Evade cooldown recovery speed and 3-4 seconds of Frenzy on Evade use, but 6-7% increased damage taken while Frenzy is active.
- Opal Eye Ring: 6-10% increased cooldown recovery speed and 6-7 to all attributes, but reduces movement speed by 6-7%.
- Cursed Coin Amulet: 51-83% Lightning Resistance and +1 to all skills, but 4-5% increased damage taken.
- Timeglass Chalice: 23-31 Mana and 23-31% increased Mana regen, but reduces health regen by 31-47%.
- Doom Gourd (Primalist): 11-17 Minion Melee and Spell Void Damage, but reduces Minion Physical Resistance by 11-17%. Aberrant Eye (Mage): 7-13 Ward per second and 11-13% of Maximum Health as Ward decay threshold, but reduces health by 7-9%.
- Apocalypse Code (Sentinel): 13-17% Physical and Void penetration, but reduces health by 5-7%.
- Prophetic Homonculus (Acolyte): 61-77% Necrotic and Void Resistance, but reduces armor by 37-47%.
- Bottled Time (Rogue): 6-12% increased movement speed and cooldown recovery speed, but increases damage over time taken by 12-24%.
Idol Altars & Omen Idols
Idol Altars are a new type of item that slots above your Idol Grid and changes its layout. They come with affixes that affect your equipped Idols and introduce new Refracted Idol slots with a purple background, which grant unique bonuses to any Idols placed in them.
Omen Idols are a new type of Idol that is already corrupted. They are 1×3 or 3×1 in size and can roll affixes normally reserved for larger class Idols. By default you can only have one Omen Idol equipped at a time, though certain Idol Altars can increase that limit.
One thing to keep in mind is that both Idol Altars and Omen Idols drop exclusively from Omen Window encounters.

New Woven Echoes
There are two new Woven Echoes which are as follows:
Omen’s Veil
Omen’s Veil is a new Woven Echo that contains three regular Omen Windows running simultaneously. Successfully completing all three turns each one into a Timeglass Core. It can be purchased from Apophis using Timeglass Fragments and requires a minimum Corruption of 100.

Fractured Prison
Fractured Prison is a new Echo where you fight an empowered version of Shade of Orobyss, supported by each of the different Omens one at a time. To unlock it, you need to have all three Omen Windows active at the same time during Omen’s Veil and successfully complete all three. Corruption and Echo modifiers have no effect inside Fractured Prison and it requires a minimum Corruption of 400.

New Rogue Skills
Season 4 adds two brand new skills for the Rogue class: Bladestorm and Shadow Rend.
Bladestorm
Bladestorm is a new standalone skill that creates spinning blades at a target location, hitting nearby enemies three times per second. You can have up to three Bladestorms active at once, though each enemy can only take damage from one at a time. It was previously a subskill of Umbral Blades but has now been given its own full skill tree with a wide range of nodes covering damage, movement, ailments, and weapon specific bonuses.
Shadow Rend
Shadow Rend is a powerful melee or bow attack with a short windup that creates a Shadow at your previous position. The Shadow then performs a sweeping melee or piercing bow attack after a brief delay and persists for up to five seconds. The initial attack deals 100% damage effectiveness while the Shadow’s attack hits for 500%. Up to three Shadows can be active at once and they can imitate your next use of Shadow Cascade, Shurikens, Umbral Blades, Explosive Trap, or Acid Flask. The skill tree offers a wide range of nodes covering damage, critical strikes, ailments, and unique mechanics like Shadow Massacre and Hidden Strength which consume active Shadows for powerful effects.
Other Changes
Everything mentioned above covers all the new features added in Season 4 of Last Epoch. However, that is far from everything that changed with this update. There are a significant number of balance adjustments, class changes, bug fixes, and quality of life improvements that were also part of the patch. If you want to dig into the specifics of every single change made, then check out the official patch notes of this update.
Wrapping Up
That covers everything new in Last Epoch Season 4. Shattered Omens is a substantial update that adds a lot of depth to both the endgame loop and itemization, and the Omen Windows mechanic in particular changes how you approach the Monolith of Fate in a meaningful way.
