Season 4 of Last Epoch, Shattered Omens, has brought a solid round of balance changes, new Rogue skills, and a reworked Spellblade passive tree that have shifted the meta in some interesting directions. Some builds that were strong last season are still holding up while others have risen to the top thanks to the new additions and tweaks.

Whether you are jumping in fresh or returning for a new season, knowing which builds are worth investing in right now saves you a lot of time and currency. This guide covers the top meta builds in Season 4 so you can hit the ground running from day one.

Meta Builds for Season 4 (Shattered Omens)

The meta has not shifted dramatically from the previous season, and most builds that were performing well before are still very much worth playing in Season 4. Rather than covering every viable option, I will be focusing on the builds I believe to be the absolute strongest in the game right now. That said, Last Epoch has a genuinely diverse build ecosystem and there are plenty of other solid options outside of what is listed here. If a build you enjoy is not on this list, that does not mean it is not worth playing.

Warpath Void Knight

The Warpath Void Knight is in my opinion the best overall build in the game right now. The core of the build revolves around the Warpath skill, which allows you to spin continuously while dealing a massive amount of AOE damage to everything around you. The Void Knight mastery takes this further by creating echoes of Warpath that linger behind you, cleaning up enemies as you move forward and effectively doubling your damage coverage across the screen.

What makes this build particularly appealing is how forgiving it is to play. You gain built in stun immunity while channeling Warpath, which means you can spin through dangerous packs without being interrupted. The Void Well passive keeps your mana topped up indefinitely so you never have to stop spinning. You simply keep moving, maintain your buffs, and watch entire screens of enemies melt around you. This makes it one of the easiest builds to pick up and one of the most satisfying to play, especially when you are tearing through Empowered Monoliths at speed without slowing down.

Ballista Falconer

Another great and powerful DPS build worth highlighting is the Ballista Falconer. This build is built entirely around raw damage output and excels at it in a way that few other builds can match right now.

The core mechanic revolves around summoning multiple Ballistae and buffing them with Aerial Assault, which you use as both your movement skill and your primary damage amplifier. As you move around the map with Aerial Assault, your Ballistae are teleported with you thanks to the “Experimental Minions Transported with Traversal Skills” boot modifier, keeping your damage output constant no matter where you reposition.

The playstyle is aggressive by nature with the entire focus placed on dealing as much damage as possible. The build is a ZHP setup, meaning it invests nothing into traditional defenses like health. Instead it relies entirely on Silver Shroud stacks to prevent death, which guarantee a dodge on the next hit.

If you are comfortable with a high awareness playstyle and do not mind being a little squishier in exchange for absolutely shredding bosses and endgame content, the Ballista Falconer is one of the most rewarding builds to invest in this season.

Abomination Necromancer

If you prefer a slower and more methodical playstyle, the Abomination Necromancer is well worth considering. The entire build revolves around the Assemble Abomination skill, which consumes all of your other minions to create one hulking monstrosity that deals massive damage and is extremely difficult to kill.

You summon as many Skeletons, Skeletal Mages, Wraiths and Golems as possible before channeling the Abomination, which absorbs them all and grows stronger with each one consumed. Once it is up and buffed with Dread Shade and Bone Curse, it tears through bosses and endgame content with ease while you stay safely at a distance.

The survivability on this build is exceptional. Between the Abomination tanking everything in sight and the defensive layers available to the Necromancer, you will rarely feel in danger in most endgame scenarios.

The one genuine downside is the summoning process itself. Getting the Abomination up and running requires swapping skills on your action bar, carefully managing which minions get consumed, and applying buffs in the right order. It can feel tedious compared to something like the Warpath Void Knight, but once it is summoned and rolling, few builds in the season can match what it puts out.

Anurok Frogs Beastmaster

If the Abomination Necromancer feels like too much work and you want something genuinely relaxing, the Anurok Frogs Beastmaster is exactly what you are looking for. The entire build revolves around summoning a relentless horde of poisonous frogs using the Chorus of the Anurok unique helmet, which automatically spawns Primal Anurok frogs to fill up your companion slots. So no clunky revival mechanics to worry about.

The frogs leap at enemies, delivering devastating tongue attacks, slams, and slaps while you largely sit back and watch the chaos unfold. There is no complex skill rotation to manage here. Your job is simply to keep your buffs active using Summon Frenzy Totem, Summon Bear, Summon Storm Crows, and Summon Wolf, and use Fury Leap to move around the map while your frog army handles everything else.

Despite how laid back the playstyle is, the build performs exceptionally well in endgame content. The frogs have unique damage scaling mechanics that set them apart from other minion builds, and when paired with the right passive nodes like Cornered Beast, Ursine Strength, and Porcine Constitution, the Beastmaster becomes surprisingly tanky on top of everything else.

Zombie Warlock

There are a couple of strong Warlock builds in the season but my personal favorite among them is the Zombie Warlock. This build is pretty well balanced, offering both good damage and defense.

The build works by briefly channeling Profane Veil to summon Volatile Zombies and then detonating them with Chaos Bolts. This results in huge powerful fire explosions that tear through packs and bosses alike. Bone Curse and Aura of Decay provide additional damage on top of that while also contributing to your Ward generation, which is how the build maintains its survivability.

What makes the Zombie Warlock particularly impressive is its versatility. It performs just as well in solo boss fights as it does clearing dense packs of enemies in Monoliths, which is something very few builds can claim.

The one thing worth keeping in mind is that the endgame version of the build is fairly unique item heavy, so reaching its full potential requires some investment. That said, even before you have the full gear setup, it hits hard and holds up well in endgame content.

Judgement Aura Paladin

The Judgement Aura Paladin is one of the best starter builds you can pick up in Season 4. The build works by using the Judgement skill to create Consecrated Ground around you, which burns enemies with holy fire as a continuous aura wherever you walk.

What makes it so beginner friendly is how simple the gameplay loop is. You drop Judgement, keep moving, and let the Consecrated Ground do the work while Holy Aura and Symbols of Hope keep your buffs active in the background. There is no complex rotation to master and the build does not require any specific unique items to function, making it extremely accessible from the moment you start.

On top of all that, the survivability is exceptional. The Consecrated Ground that burns your enemies also heals you, and with multiple defensive layers available through the Paladin passive tree, this build is more than capable of handling Hardcore.

Fire Aura Spellblade

One of the more beginner friendly builds in Season 4 that still holds its own in endgame is the Fire Aura Spellblade. For this we are going with the Cold build. This means you will be converting Fire Aura into Cold damage by using Freezing Aura. This surrounds you with a constant wave of frost that freezes and shatters enemies as you move through them.

The gameplay loop is straightforward. You spam Firebrand to proc Frost Claws, which then proc Ice Barrage to ramp up your damage through Frost Armor. Enchant Weapon provides powerful offensive buffs in the background. With Teleport keeping you mobile and Flame Ward acts as your main defensive tool for tanking dangerous hits.

The build has great pack clearing and decent single target damage. This makes it a solid all rounder for working through Monoliths. The one caveat is that building reliable defense does require some gear investment, so survivability improves significantly as you upgrade your equipment.

Bladestorm Bladedancer

One of the newer builds on this list and one that looks genuinely promising is the Bladestorm Bladedancer. The Bladestorm itself is a brand new standalone skill added in Season 4, previously it only existed as a passive node upgrade for Umbral Blades.

The build works by casting Bladestorms to generate Blade Shields through the Shuriken Storm node. And then manually casting Shurikens to stack Blade Shields and sustain Mana through Sapping Strikes. Synchronized Strike provides additional burst while Smoke Bomb keeps your Silver Shroud stacks and defensive buffs active.

The build has impressive clear speed and is capable of handling endgame content. That said, it is worth noting that this build is relatively new and still requires more testing. It is also susceptible to changes down the line. I would suggest giving it a little more time to settle before fully committing to it as your main build for the season.

Last Epoch (season 4).

Wrapping Up

Season 4 has a solid spread of builds across every mastery and playstyle, and any of the ones listed above will serve you well into the deepest parts of endgame. The meta is in a healthy place right now so pick whatever sounds most fun to you and run with it.
