For most teams, the Point Guard will be their shortest player available. Despite that, the role of a point guard is vital to the team as this position will revolve around helping teammates and taking on the offensive.

That said, if you’re planning to play as a point guard in NBA 2K23, then you have to use the best build available. In this guide, we’ll take a look at possibly the best point guard build out there.

The Best Point Guard Build in NBA 2K23

Let’s get straight to the point. The build we’re talking about here is the Playmaking Shot Creator build which, unsurprisingly, dominated the previous 2K22 meta because of how good it actually is.

You can say it’s an overpowered build, and it pretty sure is.

Now, it has made a comeback in 2K23, and that’s exactly what we’ll be covering. As a new-gen Point Guard build, the Playmaking Shot Creator is a true monster when it comes to playmaking and shooting.

It features decent defense on the perimeter, and it can easily reach 99 OVR with only 83 Badge Points.

You want to distribute your badge points this way:

  • 15 points for Finishing
  • 26 points for Shooting
  • 29 points for Playmaking
  • 13 points for Defense

If you’re new to the game, you want to keep in mind that various Height, Weight, and Wingspan combinations will greatly affect the attributes of your MyPLAYER. As such, you need to pick the right combination to make yourself an excellent Point Guard.

For this build, you want to go for the following numbers:

  • Height – 6’1”
  • Weight – 161 lbs.
  • Wingspan – 6’7”

As for your physicals, you want to aim for 85 Speed, 81 Acceleration, 60 Vertical, and 92 Stamina. For the Takeover, you want to pick Limitless Range for the primary and Spot-Up Precision for the secondary.

Which Team to Play On

After finishing your build, the next step is to pick an NBA team to play in. While there are lots of amazing teams in the game, there are some that would be perfect for playing as a point guard. Here are some recommendations:

  • Miami Heat – The team’s current Point Guard Kyle Lowry is no longer in his prime, so you should be able to take on his position pretty easily. Also, you’ll be playing with players like Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro for some amazing plays on the court.
  • LA Lakers – In the Lakers, you’ll be able to take Russel Westbrook’s spot and play with superstars such as Anthony Davis and LeBron James.
  • New Orleans Pelicans – Lastly, we have the Pelicans where rising talent Zion Williamson is present. This makes for a really exciting team to join as a Point Guard as all you need to do is pass the ball and build up your assists.

That said, it all boils down to personal preference when it comes to which team you want to join. Still, if you want to maximize your career’s progress, then joining a team with the right talent will significantly help.
