Cyberpunk 2077might have had a rough launch, but the FF06B5 mystery involving the Bhikku Monks enraptured a certain part of the fanbase from the start.
While the mystery was mostly assumed to be resolved in 2.0, Update 2.1 adds some new events involving the monks. Are these meaningless encounters, or are they hints at more secrets?
In this article, we’ll tell you everything we know about the new FF06B5 monk encounter.
FF06B5 Monk In The Train Encounter in Update 2.1
One of the biggest mysteries to grace the world of Cyberpunk 2077 was the FF:06:B5 mystery, sometimes just called FF06B5.
This mystery came from the strange statue found in Corpo Plaza. It shows a strange being with four arms holding a sword horizontally, with the text FF:06:B5.
Bhikku Monks would frequently pray at this statue, tying them to the mystery. Whether or not the mystery was solved with the 2.0 content is up to debate, but 2.1 is fanning the flames some more!
There are two encounters involving the Bhikku Monks in the new metro train system.
One of them is innocuous enough; you’ll see 4 Bhikku Monks sitting on the bench in front of you. They don’t really do or say anything interesting, however. There’s a cat under their bench, which some speculate is the infamous Nibbles.
The second encounter, however, has a monk speak to V. This Bhikku Monk with tattoos on his head will sit next to V, then look towards them and say something like “You… oh, never mind…”
There’s no real reason for this monk to approach V, and the Bhikku Monks’ ties to the FF:06:B5 mystery just make it even stranger.
Did the monk genuinely think V was someone else? Should V know this monk from somewhere else? Is this CD Projekt Red telling us that there’s still more to the secret? Or are they just teasing the community?
Sadly, we can only provide questions and no answers, at least for now.
Still, it’s interesting to see that the enthralling FF:06:B5 mystery is still giving us more to talk about, even when most people assumed it was all over with!
