V Rising: Top Tips You Should Know About to Improve Your Gameplay
V Rising has just been released, so players will have a lot of new stuff and mechanics to uncover. If you want to play the game without much difficulty, you’ll need to right tips to get you through the game.
V Rising is stated to be an open-world survival game that features the same mechanics as any survival game out there, especially Minecraft or Valheim. However, it does also feature a handful of mechanics in MMOs, though it’s categorized as such.
In V Rising, you play as a vampire who has just awoken from years of slumber. As you’re fairly weak upon waking up, you’ll have to hunt for blood and regain your strength, all while doing your best to stay alive. The game involves both PVE and PVP elements, so if you want to maximize your rate of survival in the game, you’ll need the right tips which I’ll be covering below.
Top Tips You Should Know About to Improve Your Gameplay in V Rising
What you have to keep in mind is that even though you play as a vampire in V Rising, it’s not just about hunting humans and biting their necks for blood. There is more to this game than just that. You also need to survive using your wits, master skills to up your chances of survival, and more.
That said, here are the top tips that can help improve your overall gameplay:
Carefully Choose Your Food
The saying “You are what you eat” literally applies to V Rising in the form of the Blood Pool mechanic. Essentially, each type of creature has its own Blood Type and Blood Quality which can greatly affect the bonuses you receive.
For example, if you feed on a Brute, you’ll get the Brute Blood Type and its associated Blood Quality which percentage is shown next to the name. Of course, feeding on a creature with higher Blood Quality will grant you better bonuses. Meanwhile, feeding on rats or other sub-quality creatures will end up giving you the Frailed Blood Type which will eventually cause you to become weak.
Also, it’s worth noting that Blood Quality won’t stack but will instead be replaced by the most recent one you obtained.
Familiarize the Day/Night Cycle and Avoid Sunlight at All Costs
It’s common knowledge across pop culture that vampires are weak to sunlight, and the same applies to V Rising. What makes it unique, however, is that it features a dynamic Day/Night cycle which can greatly affect your gameplay.
What you have to keep in mind is that daytime will stretch from 10 AM to 6 PM while nighttime will stretch from 7 PM to 9 AM. Although you can actually explore the game’s world, Vardoran, your options will be limited and you’ll have a hard time fighting enemies as well.
If you must travel during the daylight, you’d best stick to the treelines and the shadows they cast to avoid sunlight from hitting you. You’ll have a grace period before you start taking damage when hit by sunlight, but luckily, this can be extended with the help of armor recipes and potions.
Invest in a Vampire Lockbox
You can lose your gear in V Rising, especially in PVP where players will be aiming to loot other players’ stash during a raid. You can use this lockbox to keep any essential items that you can’t afford to lose.
Kill Human Enemies
Humans will serve as your enemies as well as one of your food sources. However, killing them is also vital, especially early in the game, as they will drop loots which you’ll need to unlock a random research technology. These include Whetstones and Stone Dust which are normally found in villages that have their own workshops and smiths.
The best time to raid human villages would be during the night, especially if there’s a Blood Moon.
Defeat V Blood Carriers for Great Rewards
Powerful V Blood Carriers are this game’s version of bosses. As soon as you build a Blood Altar in your castle, you’ll then be able to track these entities which will give you tons of amazing rewards if you manage to defeat them.
However, just like most bosses in other games, these V Blood Carriers are very powerful, so planning and preparation are essential. Once you manage to defeat one, however, you can gain loots like crafting recipes, unlock key structures in your castle, and gain the ability to wield magic in the form of Vampire Powers.
It’s also possible to stumble upon one of these V Blood carriers without having to track them, so you need to be prepared in the event of a random encounter.
Upgrade Your Castle
Lastly, you’ll want to upgrade your castle as soon as possible after building it. Your castle serves as your home, and it’s also where you can grow your army, store your loots, and build machinery for a ton of stuff.
An upgraded castle is essential as you’ll need to research a handful of stuff and even craft powerful gear to become even more powerful. You can even imprison humans in your castle for snacks later or even charm them to serve as your loyal servants.
Do take note that building a functioning and efficient castle will take hours, and if you’re playing on a PVP server, other vampire players will attempt to raid it as well. In that case, you’ll want to pick one of the best PVP base locations in V Rising to mitigate raids as much as possible.
