Some players, especially those who are playing Last Epoch again after their first playthrough, will want a build to help them level up extremely fast. The overall best build isn’t always the best when it comes to leveling up.

In this guide, we will be looking at the best builds you can go for to help you level up. These builds will help give you the most seamless experience possible when leveling up.

Best Leveling Builds for Levels 0-70

the 5 main classes and their masteries

In total, there are 5 different playable classes in Last Epoch.

  • Sentinel
  • Mage
  • Rogue
  • Acolyte
  • Primalist

All of the classes have distinct playstyles and very different builds. For our list we have picked the best builds focused mainly on leveling up by taking one build from each class. These builds can still lead you toward an end-game build that is very strong late game.

Every build on our list is suitable for new players and has very smooth transitioning and leveling up.

Sentinel – Paladin

Starting with the Sentinel, the best build to level up here is the Sentinel Paladin build. The Sentinel-class has access to a lot of very useful early-game skills like Rive and Healing Hands. So, you will have a lot of damage and have access to healing.

The Paladin being a Mastery of the Sentinel has access to these skills and brings along some of its own. The main skill that makes this build so good is the Javelin skill that you can unlock and upgrade.

You can also utilize the Holy Trail with your Javelin skill and that will allow you to deal much more damage. Other than the damage, Holy Trail will also heal you or any ally that goes on the trail.

Mage – Runemaster

Mages are a staple in any ARPG game, and in Last Epoch it’s no different. One of the things that makes the Mage so strong in the early game is the Ward that they can generate. Ward is a temporary shield that can block a lot of damage and you can keep it up by constantly casting spells.

For the Runemaster specifically, you can utilize the Frost Claw skill to carry you through the early levels. All Mage Masteries have access to Frost Claw, but the Runemaster can make the best use of it.

Later on, you can use stronger skills, and Mage is generally very strong in the late game anyway.

Rogue – Blademaster

The Rogue class in this game is easily the fastest class with the most mobility in it. Alongside high mobility, Rogues can deal very high damage and melt enemy health bars. The trade-off here is low defense and HP.

For Rogue Blademaster you will mainly focus your build around the Umbral Blades skill. This skill scaled very well throughout the game and deals high damage at all levels once you unlock it.

Other than doing a lot of damage, the Rogue Blademaster is extremely fun to play. The high mobility means that anyone playing this build will have a lot of fun.

Acolyte – Warlock

When it comes to clearing large groups of enemies, the best class is certainly the Acolyte. This class will give you a lot of damage, especially AOE damage. Other than that the Acolyte also has more than decent defense options.

The Warlock Mastery places a large focus on Curses and various Bleeds to deal damage. What makes this Mastery so strong is the ability to proc additional skills after casting one.

chthonic fissure skill description

The Chthonic Fissure is going to be your main skill when playing this build, and it allows you to proc a ton of other skills after it. By stacking damage upon damage, the Warlock can make quick work of a group of enemies and even larger stronger enemies.

Primalist – Shaman

The last class on our list, the Primalist most probably has the worst early game out of all the classes in the game. That doesn’t make it bad for leveling up as the builds in this class ramp up pretty quickly.

Looking at the Shaman Mastery, the leveling up is one of the smoothest in the game. The build places a lot of focus on summoning minions called Totems.

You will have access to many different Totems when playing the Shaman. For example, one Totem skill is the Summon Thorn Totem. This skill summons Totems that allow you to deal a lot of AOE damage.

Other than the 5 builds on this list, there are a lot of other builds that can help you level up very fast. Speeding through the early to mid-game will help you get to Monoliths faster and start the late game.
