The Finals is a first-person shooter that gives you access to a plethora of weapons to blow up your surroundings. One of the most unique available here are the throwing knives.
There’s a bit of a learning curve to using these instead of opting simply for guns.
However, once you understand the mechanics, you’ll find they dish out huge damage and can really confuse other players!
How To Play with the Throwing Knives Guide
To begin with, you’ll want to play the Light class and select the throwing knives from the weapons menu before entering the game.
Unlike other FPS games, they are available as a main weapon not an attachable throwable weapon like grenades regularly are.
Once you have them selected and entered the game, it’s time to experiment. Due to their precision, they are best used when up close to an enemy. The Throwing Knives have two types of throws.
By hitting the left click, you’ll initiate the basic throw. This is a very quick movement where your player will throw two knives in the direction you’re aiming at instantly.
Whilst this attack delivers a lower damage and has a significantly lower reach, it launches so quickly that you can practically spam it like a handgun.
The two knives are separate objects, so make sure you are aiming for the centre of a person otherwise one might hit and the other might not.
Alternatively, by hitting the right click you’ll initiate the long-range throw. This movement is relatively slow to initiate but has a seemingly infinite reach and delivers very high damage.
A body hit will deal about 140 damage, nearly the whole health bar. Headshots deliver 210 damage, instantly killing opponents.
By combining the long-range throw and basic throw you can really elevate your gameplay. You’ll want to use the slower long-range throw to deliver most of the damage, then follow it up with a basic throw to seal the kill.
Always follow up with a basic throw, since you’ll likely sustain damage from opponents in the time it takes to fire another long-range throw.
Not a lot of players have finessed this weapon yet, so utilising it can both throw off other gamers and give you a significant edge in your gameplay strategy.
