Items created through alchemy have a large variety of effects in Atelier Ryza 3. For example, you can create debuffing items to weaken your foes, making them easier to take down.
If you find the synthesis system too complex and confusing to make powerful debuff items, worry not. We’ll guide you through every step of the process in this guide.
How to Synthesize the Best Debuff Items in Atelier Ryza 3
The two best items for debuffs in the game are the Sourcebook of Acacia and the Cantera of Calamity.
Sourcebook of Acacia will not just debuff, but it will also deal a lot of non-elemental magical damage. It will also increase the severity of any ailment already inflicted on the target.
On the other hand, the Cantera of Calamity applies random debuffs while also removing all buffs from its target. It will also reduce the target’s elemental defenses.
You want to choose which one fits your needs better. Now, let’s talk about how you can craft each of them!
Sourcebook of Acacia
This is a fairly simple item to craft, as you don’t need to get particular traits to really make it good.
If you find yourself lacking some synthesis items, we have a quick guide that talks about how to find items to synthesize in the game.
To make the most of it, try to get traits like Perpetual Machine, Rapid++, and Lightning Throw. You can transfer all of these traits by synthesizing them into an Arc en Ciel first.
For your Super Trait, you will want to set an Elixir with the Disaster trait. We recommend setting it into the centermost Effect 4 Elixirs slot.
The Disaster trait will make the item deal 5 more random status effects. That’s in addition to all the status effects and debuffs the item already applies by itself, mind you!
Finish leveling up effects by setting Philosopher’s Stones across the board. You should have one in every fork to maximize the potency of all effects.
Lastly, add a Super Rare Secret Key. Ideally, you should add one that lowers the item level. This will reduce CC and make it so more characters can use the item.
Start the synthesis and pick the traits you want while ensuring you pick the Disaster Super Trait. That’s it, you’re done!
Cantera of Calamity
For the Cantera of Calamity, start by setting down the Creaminea required for the recipe. After that, you will need any Poison item for the centermost Effect 3 Poisons slot.
Make sure that this item has the Disaster Super Trait.
Next, set a Philosopher’s Stone as the required Magical item and then set the required Dragon Breath. Now, just set items across the node board to level up all abilities to the max.
Only do this for the bottom section of the board, as we will be replacing the upper half in a bit.
While doing so, also make sure to use items that have traits you want on the final item. We recommend traits like Perpetual Machine, Rapid++, and Lightning Throw.
With that done, you now want to use Link Morph on the required Poisons ingredient. This is the centermost Effect 3 Poisons node.
Use a Mispel Seed to morph the recipe. This will remove the ATK Up effect on the item, replacing it with ATK Down. You don’t want to buff your enemies, after all!
Now, you just need to add more items to nodes, making sure that all nodes and abilities are mastered. As always, Philosopher’s Stones are fantastic for this.
Once you’re sure that all abilities and effects are maxed out, add a Super Rare Secret Key. You want a key that either reduces Item Level or CC costs.
When you’re all set, confirm the synthesis. Pick the traits you wish to keep, remembering to keep the Disaster Super Trait, and your item is done!
Venezuelan gamer cursed by being interested by most games, resulting in a ridiculous backlog he’ll never be able to conquer. Been gaming for over two decades now! Few things exemplify his wide variety in gaming tastes as the fact that he’s a big fan of both Souls games and the Atelier series at the same time. Also a big fan of Yakuza/Like a Dragon, Deadly Premonition, Zero Escape, and Dead Rising, among others. Considers Lost Judgment and Sekiro to both be masterpieces.
