You start the game with a brief adventure on Kurken Island. This might take a little while, but as soon as you complete your objectives in the area, you’ll then proceed to the nearby Pixie Forest.
This is where you’ll be able to receive your atelier or your secret hideout. All you have to do is head inside your secret hideout.

Once you’re inside, simply look for the table on the right which is basically your diary. Interact with it to open the options, then select Changing Room from the menu.
Now, simply choose which character you want to customize. The list of characters will update as you progress through the game, and you’ll only be able to see the characters who are currently in your party.
Simply choose a character, and then pick which outfit you want them to wear.
Obtaining Character Outfits
As far as we know, if you only own the base game, you will be limited to the default costume. If you want to access additional costumes, you’ll have to buy either the Digital Deluxe or the Ultimate edition of the game.
Also, players who have preordered the game will receive certain costumes and accessories.
If you happen to own the previous Atelier games, you can use your save data in order to unlock certain costumes. Here’s the list of unlockable costumes you can get:
- Atelier Ryza – Hidden Summer costume
- Atelier Ryza 2 – Summer of Lore costume
- Atelier Sophie 2 – Alchemist of Mysterious Dreams costume
Simply head to your hideout to obtain them. You’ll receive a notification upon doing so.
