With the release of the new Sunbreak expansion, the current weapon tier list has finally been updated. What used to be the meta back before the expansion is now no longer viable, considering the new progression and content that the DLC has to offer.

Which is the Best Weapon to Use in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak
Before anything else, let me preface this by saying that there’s no single absolute best weapon in the game. After all, each weapon type caters to a certain playstyle, and what might be the best weapon for others might not work for you, and vice versa.
Nonetheless, there are some truly amazing weapons out there that are worth recommending. Let’s have a look at them.
Kamura Warrior
There are only a handful of weapons you can get your hands on during your early Master Rank stage. However, if there’s one weapon you need to absolutely create, that would be the Kamura Warrior.
The reason is pretty simple: it’s cheap and doesn’t involve any major grinding to create. Add to that the fact that it has a Leve1 and 4 Decoration slot as well as a Level 2 Rampage decorate slot.
Overall, weapons of the Kamura Warrior weaponry feature decent damage and Sharpness for their level. This makes them a pretty solid choice early on in the game.
Nargacuga
Once you start progressing and reach MR3 missions, you’ll gain access to Narcaguca hunts. At this point, you’ll want to upgrade from the Kamura Warrior to the Narcaguca weapons. On one side, a Nargacuga weapon doesn’t have any element and isn’t specialized for hunting a particular monster. It also has slightly less damage for its rarity.
What makes it really great, however, is that it has a 40% Affinity bonus which makes it amazing for leveling up. With higher Affinity, you can deal more damage once you hit a weak spot.
Pair that with some Critical Eye Decorations, and this weapon will outdo the other weapons with higher damage but lower Affinity.
Monster-Specific Weapons or Upgraded Nargacuga
The upgraded version of the Nargacuga weapons is still insanely strong even in the endgame, but not in the true endgame. Ideally, before you head over to the true endgame, you’ll want to identify your target’s weaknesses first and match your weapon with its elemental weakness, if any.
Some recommendations at this point of the game are the Lunagaron, Espinos, Astalos, Mizutsune, and Gore Magala weapons.
