The main way to customize your character in Babylon’s Fall is by using the Gideon Coffin. But this mechanic is a bit complicated and only becomes fully interactive after a certain point in the story, despite being introduced early in the game.
How to Unlock and Use Gideon Coffin in Babylon’s Fall
Technically, the Gideon Coffin is unlocked from the very beginning of the game, but for a long time, it only allows you to use a set of specific Dynamis Abilities. Depending on the character you play, and wield two additional weapons, for a total amount of three, counting the one you have in your hands.
But after finishing the third cloister and unlocking the forge, you’ll be able to utilize the coffin to its full potential.
Leveling up Your Gideon Coffin
There are four different progression paths you can choose for your Gideon Coffin.
Swift Tethers
Keen Edge
Bloodlust
Avenger
The progression path will help you unlock new skills like boosting damage, killing multiple enemies, and more.
You can choose options from the progression path using special points called GP, gained with each new level of your character. Unlike most RPGs, your GPs don’t deplete when selecting a skill. This means that if you’ll pick an ability you’re not fond of, you can choose another immediately.
Coffin Gems
You can change the effect and the skill tree your coffin has by picking a different gem that powers it. Most of these are either given when you choose a faction or with the progression of the game’s main story.
