ARK Fjordur: Where to Find Sulfur

Sulfur is one of the most important resources in ARK. Unlike in other maps where you can get it from various locations, there’s one dedication location in Fjordur where you can farm lots of it.

The sulfur resource has been introduced in the Scorched Expansion of ARK. It is primarily used to craft items like the Flamethrower, Propellant, and Preserving Salt. Additionally, you can use it to tame Rock Elementals.

Since Rock Elementals are present in Fjordur as well, that means you need a lot of sulfur if you want to tame one.

If you don’t know where to find sulfur, this guide is for you.

Where to Find Sulfur in ARK Fjordur

There is one location in Fjordur where you can easily farm lots of sulfur in no time. That is none other than the Balheimr Sulfur Pools which you can find on the volcano island. This is on the southeastern portion of the map. Specifically, you want to head over to coordinates 72.8, 90.1 to find the sulfur pools.

Here, you can find plenty of yellow sulfur rocks which you have to mine using a pickaxe or a dino that specializes in mining minerals. Some good examples are the Mantis with a pickaxe, a Magmasaur, or a Rock Elemental. If you don’t have any of them yet, the Anky would be your best option.

Keep in mind that this is a rather hot area. As such, I highly recommend equipping the Desert Cloth Armor set can help you remain comfortable in the area for longer periods of time.
