Scarabidae gigas, a giant dung beetle, is an important part of the island’s unusual ecology. The Dung Beetle is useful because it can turn feces into fertilizer and oil by storing them in its inventory.

Wandering must be enabled for conversion to take place, make sure the beetle is contained in a pen where it can roam freely without danger of escape. Your Beetle can alternatively be kept to wander in a Wooden Cage and fed via the closed door. To access the inventory, simply aim at the head.

Although the Dung Beetle is not a harmful creature, it should always be kept in mind that it is not defenseless! Just be aware of your surroundings, as many more hazardous critters surround the dung beetle.

Ragnarok Volcanic Area

Dung Beetles will happily spend their days exploring the island’s numerous caves, the Ragnarok volcanic area, or the scorched earth’s hot sands.

They are most frequently seen in underground caves, where they feed on large amounts of bat guano and are chased by other giant invertebrates that roam the dark corridors and walls.

Dung Beetles can also be discovered at the bottom of the LavaCave’s entrance pit on occasion, allowing players to fly down with an appropriate mount and be out with the beetle in seconds.
