Admit it, regardless of how many dollar bills you start raking in later on you still end up in a bit of a quandary when it comes to harvesting your own crops, and you’re not to blame! The bigger your farm gets the further back you have to go in order to get your chores done. This time could’ve been spent socializing with the townsfolk, or upgrading your skills, maybe even going around town to give gifts. But that’s completely fine, the game knows about this as well so this is the part where we step in and show you how to auto harvest your crops!

How to Auto Harvest Your Crops in Stardew Valley

Now in order to do this you need to have already made a significant amount of progress in the game, specifically with the quests. You also need to have the Community Center Bundles or the Joja Community Development form completed.

If you want your harvesting done for you, you’re going to need the Junimo Hut. You can buy this from the Wizard for 20,000g. But first you will have to do the Dark Talisman quest for the Wizard. He needs you to retrieve his magic ink from his ex-wife’s house in the swamp.

Head down to the Sewers and talk to Krobus. He knows where the Dark Talisman is and will unlock a passage for you on the left hand side of the sewer that leads to the Mutant Bug Lair.

The enemies in here shouldn’t be a problem for you so just run towards the end, open the chest and make your way back to the Railroad. Interact with the artifact blocking the cave and head on in. There’s should be a teleportation rune which will lead you to the Witch’s Swamp.

Next is the Goblin Problem. He’s right in the middle of your path and he cares about his job so you won’t be getting past him, which is completely understandable. You have to pay the bills somehow. Now give him some Void Mayonnaise and he’ll happily forget about his livelihood and let you through.

Once you enter the Witch’s Hut you can find the Magic Ink on a table to your left. To make the trip back easier you can use the red rune to your right and it will teleport you back to the Wizard’s Tower. Once you hand over the ink you he can sell you things including the Junimo Hut upon talking to him again.

Remember the twenty thousand gold you had in your pocket earlier? Well this is the part where you’ll be using it along with 200 Stone, 9 Starfruit, and 100 Fiber. The Junimo Hut can cover 7 tiles in each direction once you plop it down so go ahead and buy a few more if you want all your crops covered.

There’s a few things you need to know about these little guys. They won’t go outside if it’s raining so if your crops happen to fully grow on a day where rain is guaranteed then you will have to gather the crops yourself. They don’t harvest heavy crops like melon, pumpkin, and cauliflower as well. The same goes for trees!

One more thing, you won’t earn any experience from the crops they harvest for you. If you want to give them a break you can always toggle the auto-harvesting on or off at the Junimo Hut at any given time. And that’s it! That’s how you auto harvest your crops in Stardew Valley. Now go and get busy!

Here we have Alexis, he's been gaming ever since the second Famicom came out. Which is probably the reason why he goes back to platformers every now and then. Somewhere down the line he started getting more and more fascinated about looking at maps change colors for three to eight hours straight. If he's not out strategizing and beating the life out of his space bar in that order there's a good chance you can find him playing an FPS or talking someone's ear out about how game balance gets in the way of realism. You can tell that he really likes getting the full experience of whatever he gets his hands on.
