Hardwood is a useful crafting material in Roots of Pacha, and it can be obtained relatively early in the game.
This stronger variant of wood is necessary to craft some of the better tools in the game, such as the Obsidian Axe. In this short guide, we’ll tell you how to get this material anytime you want.
How to Get Hardwood in Roots of Pacha
You can gather Hardwood by chopping down roots inside the mines. However, you first need to progress the game until you have access to the mine.
You will also need to get an axe which you can get after discovering Flint.
You can find flint in the Forest Cave area after the First Totem which is pretty early on in the game. It’s one of the first materials you will discover!
Next, you will need to speak with Acre. She will craft the Flint Axe for you if you bring her 10 Wood, 15 Flint, and 20 Plant Fiber.
Once you have all the requirements, head inside the mines. You should eventually come across a drawing of a tree with an axe on the walls.
This drawing tells you that you can use the axe to chop down the trees in the room. Bring out your trusty Flint Axe and do as the drawing says.
Note that you might have to break down rocks to be able to get to the roots.
You will receive a few pieces of Hardwood once you completely chop down the root. The root will regenerate daily, so you can just come back and cut it down again if you need more Hardwood.
That’s everything you need to know about gathering this material. Remember, you will be able to come back and get more each day!
