Palworld is the perfect type of game to play with friends, but you might run across the obnoxious “Failed to Host Multiplayer Session” error.

This error will prevent you from creating a multiplayer game for your friends to join, dashing your dreams of engaging in jolly cooperation with your friends…

In this guide, we look into potential fixes for this error so you can get back to capturing Pals with your pals!

How to Fix Failed to Host Multiplayer Session Error

Palworld: How to Fix Failed to Host Multiplayer Session Error

To start off, let’s be honest: this error is most commonly caused simply due to Palworld server issues. When that happens, there’s little you can do yourself to fix it. After all, it’s an external issue!

This is mostly due to Palworld being a smashing success, exceeding expectations when it comes to sales and concurrent players.

The game has reached peaks of up to over 1.5 million concurrent players on Steam, and no doubt a large share of that player base is trying to play online with friends!

You can keep track of Palworld’s server status by clicking here. This website tracks any outages, issues, and other incidents that might be causing issues with Palworld’s multiplayer.

Besides the servers themselves, though, the game is also somewhat buggy right now. After all, this is week 1 for an Early Access title!

The announcements in the official Discord server even point out issues with multiplayer as one of the biggest problems they are looking into.

Truth be told, the patch for fixing multiplayer issues can’t come out soon enough, so we hope it’s right around the corner!

Is There Anything I Can Do In The Meantime?

So, while we wait for official updates, the best thing you can do to try to circumvent the issue is to simply keep trying.

Persistence pays off, as they say, and that’s the case when it comes to hosting a server in Palworld.

Additionally, it’s also a good idea to try playing at a different time. Playing on peak hours, such as night, will mean there will be more players online, thus there will be a heavier load on servers.

The one other thing you can do on your end, besides being patient and persistent, is to simply relaunch the game. Seriously, just close it and launch it again and maybe the issue will be gone!

In fact, this is actually what the game itself suggests when issues happen.

If the issue persists, rebooting your PC or Xbox is also a good idea, which is the other thing that Palworld suggests when you fail to host a multiplayer session.

Sadly, though, this error is a complete crapshoot right now due to the game’s popularity. So, in the end, all you can do is relaunch the game, reboot your PC, and keep trying!
