Oak Resin is one of the most important materials in Stardew Valley. It helps make Deluxe Speed Grow, which in turn helps increase plant growth by 25%.
It’s also useful in crafting Kegs and refining raw goods.
Oak resin comes from Oak trees which can be recognized by their dark green colored leaves in the summer. They are darker than the maple trees and turn orange during the fall.
In this guide, we’ll show you how you can get your hands on an oak resin.
Getting Oak Resin in Stardew Valley
Before you start, make sure you have a tapper first. Without a tapper, you won’t be able to get Oak Resin.
You have to unlock the tapper in the game. Once you have unlocked it, you then have to manufacture a tapper which can then be used to collect Oak Resin.
You will need 40 wood and 2 copper bars to create one tapper. For wood, you will have to cut down some trees, and as for copper, you will have to go mining to obtain it.
Oak trees can be found growing naturally in the Cindersap Forest in the valley. You can also grow oak trees in an area on your farm.
After finding the oak trees, you need to put the tapper beneath them. It will take some time for the resin to fall into the tapper.
In most cases, it will take days for it to become a collectible item, but once it does, you can start collecting oak resin regularly.
You need to keep checking the tab to see if the oak resin is ready to collect.
Another way to get oak resin is to get it as a drop from the Hunted Skulls. You can also process hardwood in the wood chipper for a chance of getting it.
Both methods work for obtaining oak resin, though they only give the item by chance. As such, it would be better if you farm for it yourself.
