Diablo Immortal: How to Unlock, Extract, or Inherit Essence on Legendary Gear

Beginning June 2, 2022, Diablo Immortal, Blizzard Entertainment’s latest action RPG title, will be available for free on mobile and PC platforms. The creators have discussed Diablo Immortal’s accessibility features and gameplay mechanics ahead of the game’s formal release. Essence Transfer is one of these mechanics.

How to Unlock, Extract, or Inherit Essence on Legendary Gear

Essence Transfer allows players to “transfer” a legendary item’s name, appearance, and perks to another. Players who have played prior Diablo installments may notice that Essence Transfer works just like Kanai’s Cube. Keep reading the guide below to learn how to unlock, extract, and transfer Essence.

Transferring Essence

To unlock the Essence Transfer feature, you’ll need two legendary items of the same type in your inventory to open it. Then, visit Zamina, a particular NPC located near the Rakkis Plaza Waypoint shown on the map above.

After speaking with Zamina:

1. Navigate to the Transfer Menu.

2. On the next screen, select Extract and choose any legendary item from which to extract the Essence.

3. Spend Goldto extract the legendary item you’ve chosen.

It’s worth noting that extracting Essences will cause the legendary item in your inventory to be destroyed.

When it comes to inheriting Essence, speak to Zamina again and choose Inherit. The best thing about this feature is that this is free, unlike the extraction process.

Finally, transfer the Essence to a legendary item from the list. Keep in mind that the items that get a unique ability alter their name and appearance while retaining all of their stats and improvements.
