First-Person Shooter Games are best played with a mouse and keyboard. That’s because the mouse gives players a slight edge in aiming compared to using your analog stick.

With Crossplay being a feature for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, a number of Xbox players are opting to switch off this feature in favor of playing together with console players to even the field.

Unfortunately, you can’t switch off Crossplay on the Xbox easily which leaves Xbox players a little stumped on how to go about it.

In this guide, we will walk you through how to switch off Crossplay for a much even playing field in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.

If you try to switch off crossplay like how you would do it on Pc which is via the account settings from your menu, you will find out that the Crossplay option is locked and can’t be modified.

This is because Xbox users can only modify these settings directly from their Xbox options and not through the game options. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to access this.

Go to the Xbox Menu

Press the Xbox button from your main menu. This will bring up the Xbox settings on your screen. Navigate to the profile tab and from there, select the settings tab.

General Settings for Online Safety and Family

Once you open the General Settings, navigate and select the Online Safety and Family tab. To access this feature, you will have to input your 6-digit pin code to modify the Online Safety and Family Content on your Xbox.

Privacy and Online Safety

After you key in your pin code, the screen will take you to two options. Select the Privacy and Online Safety tab from here.

Xbox Privacy

This will bring you to another set of options. Select the upper left tab to access the Xbox Privacy Settings.

View Details and Customize

From here, scroll your cursor down and select View Details and Customize.

Manage Privileges and Permissions

On the next set of options. Access the Communication and Multiplayer tab option. This is where you can enable or disable multiplayer, Xbox Communication, and Cross-Platform Play.

Disable Crossplay from Settings

In this tab, select Cross Network Play and disable it. This will stop your console from matching with PC players in multiplayer.

Take note that this disables Crossplay for all games on your console so you will have to switch it back on other games that you want to play using the Crossplay Feature.

With that done, head over to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and match up in multiplayer. The next set of players will all be Xbox Players from here on out.
