Completing dungeons in Sword of Legends Online can be a daunting task for a lone player, and you’re not always going to find people to play with. Fortunately, that’s where the games companions come in.
Most MMORPGs are meant to be played with other people, but it might be hard to find players of your skill level, especially if you’re just starting out. For this reason, Swords of Legends gives you the ability to summon in-game companions.
How to Summon Companions in Swords of Legends Online
Before you’ll be able to summon them, companions have to be unlocked by progressing through the game’s main story. There are three companions for you to unlock:
– Yilang will become available after completing the “Battle in Royal Court IV” quest
– Li Lingshuang can be unlocked by finishing the “Zhongnan Foothills“ quest after reaching level 30
– Wu Mang becomes available after you complete the Jiangdu: Shanghuai Grassland” quest
Adding Companions to Your Team
After unlocking each companion, you’ll have to add them to your team.
To do that, first press the “Summon Companion” button and choose the “Add Battle Companion” option. Now, choose the companion you want to summon, click the “select” option and press the “Start Attack” option.
This will summon the companion onto the field, although they will only stay there for a couple of minutes. To summon them again, you’ll need to wait about 10-15 minutes.
Upgrading Your Companions
Just like your main character, each companion will have to be upgraded to get stronger. To do this, you’ll need special items called Jixianling elementary fragments. Each will give your companion 5 experience points.
To use them, go to the “Museum of the Continents” menu and choose the “Companion Recruitment” option. Select the companion you want to upgrade, press the “upgrade” option, select the number of fragments you want to use, and click “confirm”
What Are Companions For
Generally, companions are designed to help you complete dungeon quests. When summoning, you can choose which role – DPS, Tank, or Healer – will the companion fill. Ideally, you’d want them to do what you’re character can’t.
But, as the dungeons will get more difficult later on in the game, forcing you to work with other players, companions are useful mostly in the first three dungeon locations: Yemo City in Wuzhao, Nightmare Temple of Mercy, and the Frostbitten Path.
