The second Angel Comb puzzle you do in Subnautica 2 is a tricky one, but it’s also very important for progression.

While the puzzle itself is simple, it’s very easy to get lost trying to solve it. It’s a bit of a “needle in a haystack” situation. Nonetheless, it’ll reward you with the ability to use Axum technology, which is a pretty big deal!

In this guide, I’ll tell you everything you need to find and complete this Angel Comb puzzle.

Starting the Angel Comb 2 Puzzle | First Plant Set

Before we begin, I want to note that you’ll require the Feedback Resonator tool for this puzzle. If you do not have it yet, you’ll need to make it by finding its Fragments and upgrading a Sonic Resonator in the Modification Station.

Simply put, the standard Sonic Resonator isn’t powerful enough for this puzzle! So, if you don’t have the upgrade yet, you’ll need to get it first.

It’s also important to have the Tadpole vehicle and Wakemaker tool. I doubt you can get close to the puzzle without them, to be frank, with Depth upgrades being recommended if you have access to them.

Either way, you can start the puzzle near the Alien Ruins, about 1200m east of the starting Lifepod. This isn’t necessarily the only starting point for it, but it’s the easiest and closest.

Once you get there, you should see some blue plants with pink cores. You’ll need to find 2 of them in the area and shoot them with the Feedback Resonator.

To do this, avoid getting too close to the plants, as they’ll close up. Keep your distance so you can shoot them. Regardless, the next video shows this process and where to find all the plants.

Second Plant Set

After you clear the first set of plants, go directly east until you see a massive purple root or similar on the ground. Follow it when it breaks off to the south.

You’ll then reach another location with more of the same type of plants as before. There are only 2 this time as well, but they’re a bit more spread out. The next video shows how to reach and find them.

Third Plant Set

Once that set is done, go directly north back to where the purple root was. Then turn right to continue east, where you will find the central Angel Comb itself.

For now, ignore the Angel Comb and continue following the purple root northeast. It will eventually lead you to a wreck, which you can enter through a small square shaft on the side.

Enter the wreckage and cross it to reach a dark cave, where you will find another set of 2 plants. Shoot them with the Feedback Resonator as you have until now, like the next video shows.

Fourth and Final Plant Set | Adaptation Unlocked

At this point, you just need to retrace your steps. Remember, you passed by the core Angel Comb before, so you just need to go back to it now.

Once you reach the Angel Comb, look for the last set of 2 plants. One will be to the southeast, while another will be to the southwest. Clear them both and the Angel Comb will open.

Now that the Angel Comb is open, approach it and interact with it to obtain the Axum Vision Adaptation. The next video shows how to get back to the Angel Comb and finish this puzzle.

So, there you have it! That’s all you need to do to complete the second Angel Comb puzzle in Subnautica 2, obtaining the Axum Vision Adaptation in the process.

This upgrade allows you to perceive and interact with Axum technology you find while exploring. As such, it’s key for certain tasks, such as starting the Giant Alien Power Plant. It opens up a lot of possibilities!
