While Subnautica 2 is still in Early Access, it does currently feature an ending you can reach by exploring the Alien Ruins.

I’ll try to avoid spoilers in this intro, but you do get to learn quite a bit about the world you’re in with this ending. However, since it’s still Early Access, it’s a huge cliffhanger and tease more than anything.

In this guide, I’ll tell you how to reach the current ending of the game. Spoiler warning!

Get all the Prerequisites

Before you can reach the current Early Access ending, you’ll need to do a few things. So, let’s recap just in case you haven’t done them yet.

Most important of all is starting the Giant Alien Power Plant, which we have a dedicated guide for. Though do note that you’ll also need to do the Alien Comb for the Axum Vision Adaptation.

If you haven’t done those things, check out the guides I’ve linked to. If you already did them, just read on! You actually don’t have much left to do at that point to reach the ending.

Scan the Rosetta Stone

Once you have everything from the previous step, you’ll need to go back to the Alien Ruins that are near the Axum Vision Alien Comb.

From the Alien Ruins, go straight south, pointing to around 195º on your compass. You should see the Rosetta Stone after just a few meters. It’s a monolith that gives out its location with a green glow.

Once you reach the Rosetta Stone, pull out your Bioscanner and use it to scan the monolith. The video below shows this route and process, for further reference.

This will have given you a new Adaptation of sorts, unlocking the Axum Translation ability. That means that you can now understand the alien Axum language!

Go to the Axum Observatory

Next up, you’ll need to go to the Axum Observatory. That’s the massive pillar alien structure you can find at around 1200m east of your Lifepod’s location.

Since you restored the power to the alien plant previously, just go inside the observatory and interact with the pedestal to open the door.

This will take you to a room with a spinning circular structure in the middle, known as the Orrery. Approach and scan the Orrery to learn more about it.

After that, swim up the hole in the southeastern part of the observatory. Use the Axum device you encounter there to learn about the World Trees, as shown in the next video.

Congratulations, that’s how to reach the ending at the Alien Ruins in Subnautica 2! Well, in the current Early Access version of the game, at least. This is merely the beginning, it would seem, but we’ll have to wait to continue the story.

Regardless, now you know what to do! You can also feel free to explore the Axum Observatory more, if you wish. There are some podiums with decipherable glyphs that give you some more information. Nonetheless, that’s the end… for now.
