Crafting new batteries every time yours dies is a terrible long term strategy. The Battery Charger fixes that.

The Battery Terminal is one of the first base pieces you will want to track down in Subnautica 2. It lets you recharge your batteries instead of constantly crafting new ones, which saves a significant amount of resources over time.

To build it you need to scan two battery terminals first and they are both found in the same general area. In this guide, I will show you exactly where both terminals are so you can grab them in a single trip.

Locations of Both Battery Terminals

Both Battery Terminal fragments are found inside the Old Habitat. To get there head directly north from your Lifepod for around 400 meters. Along the way you will come across a giant purple jellyfish. Keep going past it and you will spot a second similar jellyfish shortly after. The Old Habitat structure sits at the bottom of that second jellyfish.

To get inside you need to swim to the bottom of the building. Look for a hole in the floor there and head through it. Once you are inside, turn right and head up the stairs. The first Battery Terminal will be sitting in that room. Scan it before moving on.

After scanning the first one head back down to the first floor the way you came. Look to your left or directly in front of the stairs and you will find a tunnel. Go through it and the second Battery Terminal fragment will be on your right. Scan that one as well and the blueprint is yours.

If you are having trouble pinpointing either of them, check the video below for a clear visual walkthrough of both locations.

Here’s a short clip showing the exact locations of both of the Battery Terminals to unlock the Battery Charger.

That’s It

That is everything you need to unlock and build the Battery Terminal. Get it set up at your base as soon as possible since constantly crafting fresh batteries is one of the more wasteful habits you can fall into early on. The Old Habitat is also worth exploring thoroughly while you are there as it has more to offer than just the fragments.
