The full release of Palworld 1.0 has significantly changed the way farming resources work. Although the core mechanics remained almost the same, automation has been expanded and the game now puts more emphasis on specialized base layouts.
Unlike in the Early Access version where you have to manually harvest most resources, nearly every important material can now be produced automatically. Of course, that’s assuming you set up your base correctly.
That said, here’s how you can farm every resource in the game more efficiently.
The Best Ways to Farm Every Resource in Palworld 1.0
Before we get started, let’s first have a look at some settings that will improve your resource farming efficiency. Specifically, I’m talking about the Pal Appearance Rate under World Settings.

What this setting does is it increases the rate at which Pals appear in your game world, with the caveat that higher values will affect the game’s overall performance. This is set to 1 by default, but you can adjust it all the way to 3 to essentially triple the number of Pals that spawn.
This can be ideal if you’re farming bosses for their drops as you’re now fighting not just one but two or even three of them at the same time.

Other settings you can tweak as the ones related to gathering items in the game. This will depend on personal preferences, so adjust them however you want.
With that out of the way, here are some of the most common resources to farm in Palworld and how to farm them efficiently:
Wood

Wood is one of the most basic resources in the game, but it’s also one you need for a wide variety of structures. Early on, you can simply harvest any wood you need with the help of Pals like Gumoss.
Eventually, you will unlock the Logging Site, and once you do, you can simply assign a Pal with Lumbering suitability to produce wood for you. With just a few Logging Sites in your base, you’d be getting more wood than you’ll realistically ever need.
Stone

Stone follows pretty much the same progression as wood. Simply destroy rocks you come across, and have Pals like Rushoars to make the process even faster.
Ideally, you want to craft its saddle so you can mount it. When mounted, Rushoar will increase your efficiency of destroying stone by 500%, which is a pretty massive boost early on.
However, as soon as you unlock the Stone Pit, manual gathering becomes obsolete. You can then build multiple Stone Pits inside your base and assign Mining Pals to continuously work without interruption.
The higher their Mining Work Suitability, the faster they’ll generate stone. Since Stone Pits never run out, they effectively become an infinite source of materials.
Paldium Fragments

Paldium Fragments are used to craft every tier of Pal Sphere, making them a resource you’ll consume throughout the entire game.
You can collect them via the blue rocks you can find near bodies of water. As soon as you get a pickaxe, you can then head inside dungeons to find huge nodes of them you can mine.
That said, while you can collect them early on, things will start getting faster once you unlock the Crusher, a machine that converts Stone and Wood into other resources.
With it, you can convert 5 Stones into 1 Paldium Fragment. So in essence, as long as your Stone production keeps up, your Paldium supply effectively becomes unlimited.
Fiber

You will need Fiber to craft cloth, medicine, arrows, and numerous crafting recipes. In fact, it has now even more important uses than before.
That said, you can harvest Fiber early on by simply chopping down trees, as it’s one of the drops you can get by doing so. However, once you have the Crusher, you can simply process excess Wood through it.
One Wood will convert into two Fibers via the machine, making it quite efficient. As long as you have a Logging Site set up, you should be able to produce a continuous supply of this resource.
Wool

Wool is a resource you need to create Cloth, which you then use to craft various armor pieces. That said, you can get it by taking down certain Pals like Cremis and Lamball.
That said, you can also produce it at your base by placing Pals like Cremis, Lamball, and Melpaca in a Ranch. Once you do, they will start dropping Wool occasionally.
Leather

Just like Wool, Leather is a resource that can’t be manufactured through traditional production structures.
Instead, you have to capture or repeatedly farm Pals that reliably drop Leather. You can butcher certain Pals that drop them such as Foxparks, Melpaca, and Rooby, to name a few. Or, you can place a Surfent in your Ranch for a chance of dropping them occasionally.

Another alternative is to buy them from an NPC called the Pal Recruiter who will show up at your base to sell you items.
You can technically capture them so you can place them in your base, allowing you to buy Leather from them anytime you want.
Gold Coin

The Gold Coin is a resource you use to buy items or Pals from merchants, including the Pal Recruiter NPC mentioned earlier. There are a few ways to get this.
One is by looting chests that you can find inside dungeons. On average, you can get a few thousand Gold Coins after completing one.

The other method is by selling items and even Pals to merchants. The amount you get would depend on the Pal you’re selling, with some higher level Pals selling for more. This is a solid means of earning Gold Coins as you progress through the game.
However, if you want to generate Gold Coins passively, one solution is to place Pals such as Mau, Mau Cryst, or Vixy inside your Ranch.
Ore

The Ore is one of the most important resources that you need to farm throughout the entire game. You will use it to craft Ingots, Refined Ingots, Pal Metal Ingots, weapons, armor, ammunition, and numerous advanced crafting stations.
Early on, you can manually farm Ores by simply mining the ore nodes you can come across as you explore the map. However, once you unlock the Ore Mining Site, you’ll be able to generate Ores passively in your base as long as you assign your highest-level Mining Pals to it.
That said, the quickest way to gather lots of Ores is to actually mine them manually. For this, you want to head to these locations as they’re filled with tons of ore nodes:

Once you’re in one of these locations, place a Palbox nearby and make sure it has at least one space available. Then, start mining as many Ores as you want and fast travel to your main base afterward.
As long as you have one ore inside one of the chests in your base, you can use the Easy Bulk Storage feature to transfer your mined ore into that chest.
Simply rinse and repeat until you have enough ores for your needs.
Coal

Coal is a resource that’s primarily needed for Refined Ingots. Just like Ore, you can manually gather them from Coal nodes scattered across the map.
If you’re still progressing through mid-game, I recommend establishing a secondary base near dense Coal deposits. You will eventually unlock the Coal Quarry which you can then use to automate Coal production.
Sulfur

Sulfur gets increasingly important once firearms become your primary source of damage. Since ammunition production consumes large amounts of Sulfur, it’s ideal to dedicate an entire mining outpost specifically to this resource.
Early on, you can farm a lot of Sulfur in the volcano area on the western side of the map. Once you reach level 46, you’ll then unlock the Sulfur Quarry for Sulfur production.
Ancient Civilization Parts

Ancient Civilization Parts are used to craft certain items, armor, and weapons like the Egg Incubator, Grappling Gun, and the Giga Shield. Unfortunately, they’re one of the few resources that you can’t automate.
That said, the fastest method for farming them is by repeatedly defeating Alpha Bosses and dungeon bosses.
Once you’ve optimized your gear and combat Pals, you should be able to repeatedly clear lower-difficulty Alpha encounters for a steady supply of this resource.
High Value Ranch Resources
As you might have noticed, Ranches are quite valuable as a lot of crafting materials can now be generated entirely without combat.
Aside from the resources mentioned earlier that can be produced via the Ranch, some of the most valuable products you can get from it include Eggs, Milk, Honey, and High Quality Pal Oil.
You’ll also need some of these resources to craft Cake which is quite important for breeding purposes.
These passive resources dramatically reduce the amount of manual farming required for food production, medicine crafting, breeding, and advanced manufacturing.
Final Thoughts
In case you missed it, the key to efficiently farming resources in Palworld 1.0 is automation. As soon as you unlock the necessary structures for production, you can then let your Pals handle the entire resource gathering task while you focus on exploring and doing other stuff.
With a well-organized setup, you should be able to have a steady supply of resources without having to farm most of them manually.
