She can be a bit hard to build right, as her entire Officer archetype is locked out and you only get to play around with your choices for her secondary archetype.
Nonetheless, we’ve got a Grand Strategist build for you that is sure to make the most out of Jae’s strengths!
Jae Heydari Officer & Grand Strategist Build
Now, the first thing to note about Jae Heydari is that she already has her Officer archetype maxed out once she joins your party.
That means, there is absolutely nothing you can do to change it. All her abilities, talents, and stats are preset from the get-go!
As such, you only really get to make a build for her once you invest into the second Archetype, which will be Grand Strategist for this build.
The main reason to spec Jae into Grand Strategist is that “Combat Tactics” allows her to go first no matter what. This makes up for her poor Agility and other flaws of her Officer setup.
Truthfully, though, the sub-optimal Officer setup she has makes her less than ideal to use. She’ll be mostly good if you pair her up with another Officer, especially if you have a custom Officer Noble build.
But, nonetheless, let’s try to make the most of Jae with the following recommended level-up choices for her Grand Strategist archetype.
Levels 17 to 36: Grand Strategist
Level 17 – “Combat Locus Stratagem” ability.
Level 18 – “Diversion Zone” talent.
Level 19 – “Take and Hold” improvement, though you will barely use it. As always with Officer-related builds, your secondary archetype’s Heroic Act pales in comparison to “Finest Hour!”
Level 20 – “AP Increase” improvement and Fellowship stat increase.
Level 21 – “Blurred Locus” talent and Fellowship stat increase.
Level 22 – “Killzone Stratagem” ability.
Level 23 – Choose either the Persuasion or Coercion skill, depending on what you want to focus on in dialogues. Also, get the “Inescapable Zone” talent.
Level 24 – Intelligence stat increase and “It Will Not Die” talent.
Level 25 – “Point of Interest” talent.
Level 26 – Intelligence stat increase and either Persuasion or Coercion skill.
Level 27 – Any “Take and Hold” upgrade you want.
Level 28 – “Strategic Offense” talent and Intelligence stat increase.
Level 29 – Intelligence stat increase and either Persuasion or Coercion skill.
Level 30 – “Trenchline Stratagem” ability.
Level 31 – “Ready to Serve” and “Base Skill: Logic” talents.
Level 32 – Coercion skill and Toughness stat increase.
Level 33 – Toughness stat increase and “Grenadier” talent.
Level 34 – “Advanced Skill: Logic” talent.
Level 35 – Any “Take and Hold” upgrade you want. As usual, it doesn’t matter.
Level 36 – Exemplar archetype and “Eager Subordinates” talent.
All things considered, this build for Jae is done once you get “Eager Subordinates” from the Exemplar archetype.
You still have 4 more levels to hit the Level 40 cap, but there’s really nothing else that you must have. In the end, you can just use up your remaining level-up choices however you wish.
But, now that your Jae Grand Strategist build is done, you have a solid support unit for your party. She’ll be particularly excellent when paired with other Officers!
