Using just one ship in Skull and Bones can become boring quite quickly. Luckily, the game allows you to unlock and craft a number of different ships. Different ships in Skull and Bones have different characteristics and traits, so you will want to unlock as many as you can.
This guide will look at how to unlock new ships in Skull and Bones. Other than that, we will also look at where you need to go and what you need to unlock ships in this game.
How to Unlock New Ships
Ships in Skull and Bone can be unlocked at the Shipwright. You can find a Shipwright at all Pirate Den’s in the game. The image above shows what the Shipwright will look like on your map.
Pirate Dens act as the hub in Skull and Bones, and you can find the most essential locations at these dens. You can find the first Shipwright at the Sainte-Anne Pirate Den, which is the location where you start the game.
You will be able to unlock new ships at the Shipwright, given you have the required Infamy level and the right Blueprints. If you meet both of those requirements, you can unlock and craft the ship with the right resources.
Blueprints
You will need to find the Blueprints for a ship before you can unlock and craft it at the Shipwright. Each ship will have its Blueprints that you will need to find.
The game will let you know if you don’t have the necessary Blueprint for a ship. It also gives you clues that guide you toward the Blueprint you need. You can choose to track the Blueprint, and that will set a waypoint for you telling you where to go.
You can also use the Codex and track the Blueprints needed to unlock a specific ship from there. The Codex can help you track any ship, and it also provides other valuable information related to the ship.
Most Blueprints can be found at vendors in the game. You will be able to purchase these Blueprints using your Silver. Silver is the in-game currency that is used to purchase various items.
Other than having the right Blueprints, you will also need to meet the necessary Infamy level. Infamy in Skull and Bones is equivalent to experience in other games. As your Infamy increases in the game, you will be able to unlock more ships.
The game lets you know if you don’t meet the required Infamy level, and the Infamy level needed to unlock that specific ship. Your Infamy will increase by simply playing the game, but you can speed it up by completing more contracts and taking down enemy ships.
