If you’re by any chance a new player to Stardew Valley, you probably noticed how confusing and puzzling moving chests around can be. This is why we decided to bring you a step-by-step guide on how to do this easily to help you enjoy your game to the fullest.
There are a total of 2 ways you can go about this so without further ado, let’s get to it!
Way 1
To make this first way of moving chests around work, you first need to approach the chest in the direction you wish to move it. So for example if you want to move it leftwards, approach the chest from the right side, etc.
Next up, choose an empty slot in your inventory bar at the bottom of the screen. Now hover your pointer over the chest, press the left click and hold. This will start an action where your character pushes the chest in the direction of your choosing. The chest moves slowly but it moves nonetheless. See the screenshot below for more info.
Note that all of the items contained within the chest will stay inside when using this way of moving chests around.
Way 2
The easier, and more convenient option in our opinion is to empty the chest (grab all the loot from it and place it in your inventory), and approach it. Click the left mouse button, hold it and you will be able to pick up the chest.
From here simply walk over to the spot where you wish to place it and drop it. With this, you have successfully moved your chest to another location.
