Thing is, though, the game has a bit of an unconventional upgrade method. It’s basically a two-step upgrade method, in a way. You upgrade the facility limits first, then you build new facilities.
In this quick guide, I’ll help you understand how this upgrade system works so you can make your ship better.
Upgrade Your Ship to Make It Better
In this game, everything to do with your ship revolves around the Flying Ship Core. This is an unbreakable and unmovable component which you build your ship around.

With that in mind, it’s no surprise that the Flying Ship Core itself is what allows you to make your ship better. Interact with the Flying Ship Core to bring up the Upgrade interface.
In the ship upgrade interface, you can upgrade these 3 main components of your ship:
- Speed – Allows you to install more Energy Generators, increasing your max speed.
- Size – Expands the possible building area around the ship, allowing you to place more blocks around the Flying Ship Core.
- Altitude – Allows you to install more Balloons, which then allows you to soar even higher with your ship.
As I mentioned, however, note that the upgrades have absolutely no effect on their own. Your ship will not suddenly be faster when you upgrade Speed, for example.
Instead, they merely allow you to install more facilities. You can craft more facilities at any Crafting Station, just how you did when you rebuilt the ship during the tutorial.
So, the process is to get the upgrades from the Flying Ship Core first. Then, craft and place additional Energy Generators and Balloons on your ship. That’s when you’ll actually notice a difference in functionality!
That’s all you need to know to get a better ship in Everwind. You just have to keep upgrading your existing ship using the materials you find as you explore the game’s world. It’s as simple as that!
