Being a relatively mid-to-late game wood type, Jungle Wood is fairly scarce early on. It’s not impossible to find, though, you just need to know where to look!
In this quick guide, I’ll tell you where to find Jungle Wood at every point in the game.
How to Find Jungle Wood Early
Early in the game, a good way to find Jungle Wood is to look for sea-level islands that have Grimrock structures on them. There’s an example of one in the screenshot above. You can tell them apart by their dark stone-like texture.

When you spot one of these structures, you just need to get off your ship and go to the island. Check inside the structure and you should spot wooden objects like Damaged Wooden Crates.
Break those objects with any Axe and they will drop Jungle Planks. Not quite the base wood, and not a lot, to be fair. But it does save you from having to process the wood into planks and you can get this very early on!
What’s more, these Grimrock structures often contain loads of other goodies as loot. There are no hostiles either, just capybaras hanging out. I highly recommend exploring these islands when you spot them.
If you get extra lucky, you’ll find an island that has a small maze made out of Grimrock on it. This maze usually has a lot of Jungle Planks. Chop them all up and hoard them!
Alternatively, you can rarely find Jungle Wood and Jungle Planks for sale at merchants. You just need to visit Settlement Islands, like the one above. Builder Merchants can potentially have it for sale.

Late Game Method – How to Find Jungles
The last and best way to get Jungle Wood is to visit any Jungle island. These spawn at altitudes above 1000 blocks, so you’ll need to upgrade your ship to reach them. They look like the one in the example above.
Once you do find a Jungle island, things are pretty simple. There are dozens, if not hundreds, of trees on these islands! So, just take out your Axe and chop as many as you need to get Jungle Logs.
Like other wood types, you can turn 1 Jungle Log into 3 Jungle Planks. This is by far the most efficient way to get the planks, it just requires you to be able to reach these islands first.
