Ores like Copper, Tin, Sulphur, Iron, and Coal are some of the most important resources you can find in Everwind.

These Ores are important due to how extremely common they are in crafting recipes. Frankly, you won’t get very far without mining them! But, they can be pretty hard to find if you don’t know where to look…

In this guide, I’ll tell you everything you need to know so you can easily find all Ores in the game.

Basics of Finding Ore

As I’m sure you know by now, the world in Everwind is fully procedurally-generated. That means that I can not tell you to go to a specific place for any given resource. After all, your world is different from mine!

However, there are some general tricks you can use to help you pinpoint where to find specific ores. This mainly involves learning how to tell which islands have which ores from a distance.

So, for starters, I highly recommend making good use of your Spyglass while flying through the air. It lets you zoom in on islands so that you see if there are ores on the surface.

Speaking of the surface, I highly recommend sticking to the outer parts of islands as you look for ores. The caves and dungeons aren’t as ore-dense as the surface in this game, generally speaking.

Now, I also highly recommend checking out the sides and bottom of islands. You can very often find ores there, so don’t ignore them! Just park your ship next to the island and get to mining.

Lastly, it’s a good idea to visit Settlements and engage with Merchants. You can sometimes get random Ores by looting Settlements or purchasing them from Merchants.

With those basics laid down, let me tell you how to easily identify ores on islands at a distance!

Copper

This is one of the earliest and easiest ores to get. You can find it protruding from rocky blocks on Forest islands. So, if you see a lot of grass and not a lot of rocks, that island won’t have much (if any) Copper.

Nonetheless, the Forest islands you see early in the game commonly have at least one rocky Copper vein for you to mine. These are easy to spot with the Spyglass.

Tin, Manalith, and Sulphur

These 3 Ores can all be most easily found on Desert and Savannah islands. They stand out from the light brown sand blocks, so they are extremely easy to see from a distance with the Spyglass.

For spotting specific Ores, look for these colored rocks on the sand:

  • Tin – Gray and blue.
  • Manalith – Purple.
  • Sulphur – Pale green-ish yellow.

Iron

This is an Ore that is fairly rare until you upgrade your airship enough to reach heights of 1000 blocks or more. It’s the height at which you can find the Autumn islands, like the one shown in the example above.

Speaking of heights, do you still need more Mortivar Lord Skulls for the Height upgrades? Check out our guide on how to get Mortivar Lord Skulls.

Similar to Copper, Iron Ore only spawns on rocky blocks. You can spot them by their mix of reddish browns and dark reds. More reddish browns than Copper, I mean.

Coal

Last but not least, Coal is primarily found in Jungle islands, like the one shown above. These islands are mainly found between Heights of 1000 to 1500 blocks.

Unlike most other Ores, however, Coal seems to never spawn on the side and bottom of the island. You’ll need to look on the surface of the island proper, primarily on the rocky blocks with dark dirt. Coal is purely black.

Do note, while you’re at it, Jungles are also a great source of other Ores! So, make sure to check the sides to find Tin, Iron, and more. Might as well get them while you get the Coal, right?

Wrapping Up

So, there you have it! That’s all of the Ores currently in Everwind and the best locations to find each one of them.

Now, do note that the Ores aren’t fully limited to spawning in just the biomes and islands I mentioned. You may find them in other biomes, too. But I mostly mentioned the ones that are easiest, earliest, and most dense for each specific Ore.

Nonetheless, I hope this guide helps you get any Ores you need for the dozens of crafting recipes in this game!
