The Mortivar Lord Skull is one of the many items you’ll want to get fast in Everwind, as it’s key for upgrading your airship.

The problem is… how exactly do you even find this thing? Well, as it turns out, it’s a drop from a fairly rare boss. Finding the boss in itself is a bigger challenge than defeating it, too.

In this guide, I’ll give you tips to help you easily and quickly find a Mortivar Lord Skull!

How to Find the Mortivar Lord and Get the Mortivar Lord Skull Fast

Now, the annoying part of getting the Mortivar Lord Skull is the fact that the Mortivar Lords are extremely random. There is simply no guarantee on how to find one of these guys, frankly! The game’s procedurally-generated islands are extremely varied.

That said, you can mitigate the randomness in a few ways. The first is to stick to flying between 400 to 1000 blocks high. If you can’t fly that high yet, make sure to upgrade your ship enough first.

The second is to make sure to use your Compass and Spyglass to survey islands thoroughly from a distance. You want to look for particularly tall islands, as they have more chances of containing a Mortivar Lord.

Additionally, pay attention to the dungeon icon on the right side of your Spyglass. If it lights up bright yellow, then that means the island does contain a dungeon! Otherwise, you can ignore the island.

Another fantastic tool to have is the Life Detection skill from the Engineer skill tree. This allows you to scan a wide radius around you, showing you all enemies through walls. It’s like a wallhack, I guess!

Using the Life Detection skill, you want to look for any enemies that appear to be deep into a dungeon and sitting down. In the vast majority of cases, that sitting enemy is a Mortivar Lord.

Remember, additionally, that Mortivar Lords always spawn in a throne room near the bottom of dungeons. If you want to just rush them, you can run through the dungeon or even just enter from the side with your airship.

With those tricks in mind, you shouldn’t have too much trouble managing to more efficiently hunt down a Mortivar Lord. So, how do you actually fight these guys?

How to Defeat the Mortivar Lord

Thankfully, the Mortivar Lord is not actually very tough. The main issue, in my experience, are the annoying adds they have with them. They don’t actually die when you take them out, as they revive after a short time.

To deal with the adds, I recommend luring them out of the boss arena. Then, place blocks to block their paths back to the boss arena. If you do it right, you’ll be able to just fight the Mortivar Lord 1-on-1.

As for the Mortivar Lord himself, he’s actually a bit of a pushover. He has a lot of health, but his attacks are very slow and predictable. What’s more, he seems to have no ranged attacks of any kind.

So, using ranged weapons is ideal here, if you have any. You can just chip away at him safely by moving around the arena and taking shots.

If you want to be cheesy, you can also just use blocks or furniture to position yourself out of reach above him. He won’t be able to reach you, but you’ll be able to damage him with ranged weapons. No risk, all the reward!

Either way, manage to defeat the Mortivar Lord and you’ll have a chance of getting a Mortivar Lord Skull as a drop. Yes, only a chance, it’s not guaranteed, sadly…

In Summary

To get a Mortivar Lord Skull fast in Everwind, you simply need to efficiently search for Mortivar Lords as you explore the many floating islands in the game.

While there’s a lot of randomness involved, you can speed things up a bit in some ways. Only look for very tall islands that have dungeons, and use Life Detector to look for enemies that are sitting.

In the end, though, there’s still a lot of randomness involved! But I hope these tips help speed up your search. Either way, I wish you the best of luck on this hunt.
