What makes the Wraith Lord so rare is mostly tied to where it spawns, as its home is a fairly rare island. Plus, it’s fairly unassuming if you don’t know where to look, so you might even just fly past it!
In this guide, I’ll tell you how to encounter and defeat the Wraith Lord boss.
How to Find the Wraith Lord
The Wraith Lord is, unlike the Mortivar Lord, relatively easy to spot from a distance. You want to look for islands with dark green bog vegetation and a dark circular graveyard at the center. They look like the one above.

If you’re having trouble finding them, I recommend just flying in a single direction while using your Spyglass to check out the islands you pass by.
Once you manage to spot one of these graveyards, you just need to drop down from your airship and approach the coffin in the middle. The Wraith Lord will instantly burst out, starting the fight!
How to Defeat the Wraith Lord
The Wraith Lord is relatively simple, as he seems to only have 4 distinct moves. Simple doesn’t mean easy, though! Make sure you’re geared and leveled for this fight.
The first move the Wraith Lord is most likely going to use is a summoning move. He’ll raise his arms toward the sky, spawning a group of Wraith Knights to aid him.
This is, by far, the most dangerous thing about the fight. Stay mobile and try to take out the Wraith Knights, as they can overwhelm you very easily.
On the upside, the Wraith Knights actually count as full-fledged enemies. That means, they drop items! So, you can farm them during this fight if you’re strong enough. Though the Wraith Lord seems to stop being able to summon eventually.
The other primary attack the Wraith Lord will use is a simple projectile attack. He’ll swing his arms, firing a quick small purple projectile. Strafe to avoid it, but note that he usually fires in volleys of 2-3 shots.
The last notable attack the Wraith Lord does is a projectile blast. He’ll raise his arms to his head before swinging them away and firing the blast. This has a fairly short range, so you can avoid it by moving backwards.
Lastly, the Wraith Lord can also do a series of melee swings if you get into melee range. These hit fairly hard, so don’t think melee range is safe!
Either way, manage to defeat the Wraith Lord and you’ll get some goodies as drops. Most important are the Wraith Lord equipment recipes and the VoidHeart Orbs.
