Your airship in Everwind is not just how you get around, it is your base, your storage, and your crafting hub all rolled into one. Getting it built properly from the start is one of the most important things you can do early in the game, and the process has more steps to it than you might expect.

In this guide, I will walk you through exactly how to build your flying ship from scratch, covering everything from placing the right components to getting it powered up and ready to take off without any wasted materials or unnecessary trips.

Guide On How To Rebuild The Flying Ship

After finishing the tutorial inside the tower, you will be tasked with rebuilding a flying ship. There are various steps included with this. I will go over all of them step by step to keep things easy to understand.

Getting All The Flying Ship Recipes

Upon reaching the site of the broken ship, you will notice three items glowing with blue aura. You need to scan all these three items using your Compass. After scanning them, their recipes will unlock. Here are the three items you need to scan:

Gathering The Necessary Resources

Once you are done with the scanning part, break all three of the items. This will give you some of the resources needed to craft them again later on. Also get the Wooden Pipes and other materials you find on the ship. After doing that, head on over to the next island to find yet another wrecked ship. I have marked the island in the image below, you can get there through a boat. You can find a boat outside the tower if you don’t already have it.

Location of the next island.

When you reach the neighboring island, break all the items on top of the wrecked ship to get the required resources. Most importantly, break the Wooden Pipes that you find on the ship as you are going to need them later on to route power. Once you are done with the wrecked ship, destroy some of the grass nearby for crafting Rope and Cloth.

Here’s a clip which shows the breaking of materials on the second wrecked ship.

Crafting The Required Parts For The Flying Ship

In order to rebuild the ship, you need to craft the following four items:

  • Energy Generator
  • Wooden Engine
  • Wooden Balloon
  • Cockpit

If you don’t already have a Crafting Station, you can craft it by using 12 Wooden Planks and 3 Ropes. You can craft Wooden Planks from wood logs that you get by chopping down trees, and Rope by using Fiber which is obtained by clearing grass or foliage. After that, you will also need a couple of Sticks, which you can also get from wood logs, and some Rocks. You can get Rocks by breaking the walls of the tower.

You are also going to need Copper Nails. These can be found by breaking wooden barrels or through Copper Ingots. You can get Copper Ingots by melting copper ores inside a Furnace.

With all of that, you are now ready to start crafting parts for the ship. Go into the crafting station menu and craft all four items that I mentioned above. You will find them in the recipe section of the crafting menu.

Here’s a short clip showing the crafting of all four items needed to rebuild the flying ship.

Rebuilding The Flying Ship

Now that you are done crafting, head to the abandoned flying ship. You can get there by following the in-game quest marker. Once you get there, put down some wooden blocks to expand the area of the ship. After that, place the Cockpit wherever you like.

To save space, I recommend putting one block near the ship’s core and then placing the Energy Generator on top of that block. Next, place one block on the side of the Energy Generator such that it is directly on top of the ship’s core. Finally, place the Wooden Balloon on top of that block. This way, the Wooden Balloon is in the center of the ship which makes it look better and also saves space on the deck.

The last piece of the puzzle is placing down the Wooden Engine. I recommend placing it near the ship’s core on the opposite side of the Cockpit. With that done, you need to power the ship now. To do that, first connect the Wooden Engine to the Wooden Balloon using the Wooden Pipes you got earlier. Then connect the Wooden Balloon to the Energy Generator. Check the video below to get a clearer picture of the entire build process.

This video shows the rebuilding of the flying ship after you have crafted all four parts.

After that, put some wood in the Energy Generator as fuel and your ship is ready to fly. You can also interact with the ship’s core to upgrade its Speed, Size and the max Altitude you can reach.

That’s It!

And that is everything you need to get your flying ship rebuilt and off the ground in Everwind. It is a bit of a process the first time around but once you have all the parts crafted and know where everything goes, it comes together pretty quickly.

With your ship up and running, you are ready to start exploring the skies. If you want to make the most out of your time in Everwind from here, check out my extensive tips & tricks guide for some useful things to know as you push further into the game.
