Complete Dungeons Guide

Understanding Dungeon Progression

  • Main Quest Completion: While you technically don’t need to complete all dungeon bosses, there may be specific quests that require you to do so. Prioritize these quests to progress through the game.
  • Brewery for Damage Boosts: The primary source of damage comes from modding your equipment at the Brewery. This involves cooking your weapons to gain stats. Use dishes to increase the chances of getting desirable mod stats. The mods include Flame (Fire), Popsicle (Ice), Salty (Push), Candy (Sweet), Hot Cup (Poison), Mushroom (Shield), and combinations of these for unique mods.
  • Brewery Modding Process:
    • You can mod only one slot per weapon, and once you choose a slot, the other becomes locked.
    • Reroll infinitely for the desired mod in the chosen slot until satisfied.
    • Keeping a mod reduces the chance to reroll for it. It takes a day for an item to cook.
  • Catering Sets into an “Element”:
    • Combine mods to create sets that focus on a specific element (e.g., fire, ice, poison).
    • Experiment with mods that increase afflicted element damage, inflict element damage, dash-inflicted element, element debuff duration, and damage based on HP.

Weapon & Mod Recommendations

  • SwiftStrike Shock Mod: Kebab spear with SwiftStrike Shock mod allows dash-strike chain lightning through mobs, making it effective against packs.
  • Dash-Shield Mod: Useful for dealing with projectile-throwing enemies. It enables you to get close and initiate attacks while having a brief shield in melee range.
  • Dash-Freeze Mod: Can be effective against charging enemies. Create freeze puddles to stop enemies like pigs from charging.
  • Reflect Mods: Reflecting projectiles can be powerful, especially against bosses like the Black Rooster. Experiment with mods that reflect projectiles and apply shields.
  • Experiment with Mods: Test and experiment with different mods to find the combination that suits your playstyle. Focus on HP-up and attack-up mods for sustained survivability and damage.

Combat Strategies & Tips

  • Visibility Issues: Acknowledge the lack of visibility in the game. Be cautious of various monsters, projectiles, and traps. Focus on learning enemy patterns.
  • Destroy Projectiles: You can destroy projectiles with attacks. Utilize this mechanic to reduce incoming damage.
  • Dash Mechanics: While dash provides invulnerability, timing is crucial. Experiment with dash mods to enhance its effectiveness.
  • Reflect and Tank Builds: Consider reflect mods for all-or-nothing builds against certain enemies. Sweet mods can contribute to a tank build with damage reduction and HP stacking.
  • Elemental Focus: Consider specializing in a particular element (e.g., shock) for consistent and effective damage output.
  • Continuous Experimentation: The game’s lack of a clear upgrade system encourages continuous experimentation. Stay flexible and adapt your strategy based on the challenges you face.
