Best Loot Spots in Gothic 1 Remake

If you are looking for the best early game loot in Gothic 1 Remake, you do not need to wander far. The Ore Barons’ Manor inside the Old Camp is where most of it is concentrated and it is packed with chests containing rings, weapons, potions, and ore.

The problem is that it is not a place you can just walk into freely, and the game gives you no indication of how much valuable gear is sitting right there waiting to be taken. In this guide, I will show you exactly where to find the best loot spots inside the Manor so you can stock up early and get a serious head start on your character progression.

Best Early Game Loot Spots

Before you go after any of these loot spots, make sure you invest in your Lockpicking skill and get it up to Master level first. Without it you will struggle significantly as most of the chests inside the castle require lockpicking. And several of them are on the harder end of the difficulty scale.

Trying to brute force them without the right skill level will burn through your lockpicks fast and leave you with very little to show for it. Get the skill sorted before heading in and the whole process will go a lot more smoothly.

Gomez’s Quarters

Head up to the upper floor of the manor and turn left. You will find Gomez’s Quarters there. Inside the room sit two chests worth looting. One of them contains the Ancient Ore Armor, which is the best armor in the entire game.

Getting inside the room and opening the chests requires a bit of setup. Check out my Ancient Ore Armor guide for a full breakdown of exactly how to get in and claim it.

Upper Floor Rooms

Right next to Gomez’s Quarters you will find several other rooms on the same floor. Each one contains two chests packed with valuable loot. Working through them you will come across rings including the Ring of Strength, Ring of Defense, Ring of Greater Life, and Ring of Ore Skin.

These are well worth grabbing as they give you a solid stat boost that makes a noticeable difference early on.

In one of the final rooms you will also find the Protection of Fire ring and the Raven Tower Key. Make sure you pick up that key as well. You will need it to access the next section of the manor and the loot waiting inside.

Raven Tower

Once you have the Raven Tower Key in hand, head over to that section of the manor and use it to get inside. Work your way up through the tower floor by floor and you will come across multiple chests on each level as you climb.

Make sure you open every single one as you go rather than rushing straight to the top. At the very top of the tower sits a chest containing the Ring of Greater Dexterity. This is one of the more valuable finds in the entire manor and well worth the climb.
