In the case of the Swamp Camp, one of the quests involves gathering a swampweed which Cor Kalom will use for his experiments. If you don’t know where to find it, this guide is for you.
Swampweed Harvest Guide in Gothic 1 Remake
The Swampweed Harvest quest is one of the two quests you have to complete in order to gain the trust of Baal Orun. However, before you can start the quest, you need to speak with him first by completing the Ghorim’s Replacement quest.
Once you manage to complete the prerequisite quest, simply talk to Baal Orun, who will then talk about harvesting fresh swampweed for Cor Kalom.

Looking for the Harvesters
Your first objective is to look for a harvester named Balor. Start from the mashing area and you should see a sign with a branching path. Take the road on the right until you come across a hollowed tree trunk to the right.
Keep following the path, crossing several small bridges, until you come across a hut.
From there, turn left until you reach a tent up ahead. Turn right, and you should see Balor standing across the small bridge.
Talk to him to collect his swampweed harvest. He’ll then tell you to grab the harvest from Viran, the other harvester, who you can find on the other side of the swamp.
For this one, you want to retrace your steps until you reach the hollowed tree trunk from earlier. Just up ahead, you’ll find another hollowed tree trunk submerged in the water.
Jump into the pond and make your way through the submerged tree trunk. Keep following the road until you reach a small outpost. There will be a ladder to the left that you can climb.
Climb all the way to the third level of the outpost and you should see harvester Viran at the top. Talk to him to fetch the swampweed harvest, but unfortunately, he’s a bit skeptical about the task.
Instead, he proposes that you prove yourself by taking down the bloodflies nearby.
Getting Rid of the Nearby Bloodflies
This part is a bit challenging if you don’t have proper gear. Ideally, you want to have a good ranged weapon to take them down, though you can also use a decent melee weapon if you’re confident enough.
You can find the first batch of bloodflies just up ahead of the beach. Take them down, then head back to Viran’s outpost.
From Viran’s location, turn right, and then turn left up ahead until you see a hollowed tree trunk. Just near it, to the left, are two bloodflies.
After taking care of the two bloodflies, go through the hollowed tree trunk and cross the small body of water. Up ahead are four bloodflies.
Once you’re done, head back to Viran to report your progress. He will then give you the swampweed as well as a good amount of experience points. You can then go back to the Swamp Camp.
Hand Over the Swampweed to Cor Kalom
At the camp, look for Cor Kalom and hand over the swampweed. This should then update the Admission to the Swamp Camp quest.
However, we’re not done yet. You then want to head back to Baal Orun to report on your progress. He will remark on what you’ve done, and as a reward, he’ll give you the Sleep scroll.
That then completes the Swampweed Harvest quest in Gothic 1 Remake. As you can see, the entire objective is pretty simple: all you need to do is collect the harvested swampweeds by the harvester. The only problem is that it will take time looking for them.
