The Fjordur DLC aims to bring as many unique creatures from the other official ARK maps into one single map. This means that you’ll be able to come across Wyverns, Magmasaurs, Rock Drakes, Snow Owls, and a whole lot more in various locations.
You’ll also encounter a handful of new creatures that are unique to Fjordur. If you’re planning to tame such creatures, then this dino spawn location guide will help you.
Dino Spawn Locations Guide in ARK Fjordur
There are tons of dinosaurs that you can encounter on the official Fjordur map. If you want to tame any of them, you’ll want to head out to the exact location where they spawn. Without further ado, here are the dino spawn locations for most of the creatures on the map:
R-Giga
The R-Giga is the R variant of the normal Giga you can encounter on various maps. It features a colorful and striped body with a smaller frame than the normal Giga. You can find it in coordinates 46.7, 92.0 which are on the eastern portion of the map.
Wyverns
There are four different wyvern variants you can find in Fjordur, each spawning in different biomes. Fire wyverns are normally found in the southeastern part of the map in coordinates 85.6, 70.6. You can find a massive wyvern scar in this area where lots of fire wyverns are moving around.
The poison wyverns are inside the Vanaheim realm which you can reach by using the teleporter. They’re on coordinates 12.8, 64.5 where you can find an entrance to the cave where they spawn. As for the ice wyverns, they are located in Jotunheim which, once again, you can reach via the teleporter. They’re on coordinates 65.1, 32.4 where a massive trench is located.
Last are the lightning wyverns which are found inside the Asgard realm. They’re on coordinates 26.9, 09.1 on a massive trench just inside a cave.
Magmasaurs
Magmasaurs are heat-loving creatures, so you’ll normally find them inside the volcano. Just look for the entrance to their cave which is at the end of the wyvern scar where the fire wyverns spawn. Go deep inside the cave to eventually find Magmasaurs roaming around the lava.
Rock Drakes
Rock Drakes spawn in a cave on Asgard at coordinates 41.5, 49.4. You’ll need to find the entrance which is right on the exact spot and go deep until you reach a wide area with several Rock Drakes moving about. Though keep in mind that they normally use their invisibility, so you have to be careful when trying to loot their eggs.
Desmodus
Desmodus is a completely new creature exclusive only to Fjordur. You can find them spawning inside a cave in coordinates 71.3, 01.1. Upon reaching the coordinates, you have to dive all the way down to find an underwater cave entrance. Go inside that cave and go all the way up until you come across some ruins.
You can find several Desmodus spawning in this area.
Snow Owl
The Snow Owls have almost a similar appearance to the Argentavis from a distance. As such, it can be tricky to spot them right away. You can find most of them spawning in coordinates 59.6, 40.7 inside the Asgard realm.
Andrewsarchus
The Andrewsarchus is yet another new creature unique to Fjordur. This creature also spawns in Asgard on coordinates 25.4, 37.4. You can easily spot them roaming around the plains in that area.
Basilisk
Basilisks are these huge serpent-like creatures that normally burrow themselves in the ground until an enemy or prey approaches. You can normally find them near the volcano on coordinates 92.2, 70.0.
Maewing
Maewings are huge platypus-like creatures that you can encounter in the redwoods on the northeastern part of the map. You can see them roaming around near the small lake on coordinates 20.2, 88.8. If you don’t see one, you can try diving into the lake and you should be able to find a few swimming underwater.
Megachelon
The Megachelon is a fairly shy creature, so looking for one can be a bit tricky. You’ll find one on coordinates 54.3, 13.1.
Fjordhawk
Another new creature exclusive to Fjordur, Fjordhawks are small shoulder pets that you can find in the northwestern part of the map, inside the bright-colored forest. Since they’re small flyers, it can be a bit tricky to spot them, but you should eventually encounter one if you stay within the area.
Karkinos
Another underwater creature you can tame in Fjordur is the giant crab, Karkinos. You can find a few on coordinates 76.0, 62.6 just right next to a massive crystal pillar underwater. They were originally inside a cave while Fjordur was still a modded map, but now that it has become official, the choice of putting them underwater seems rather considering their taming method.
Velonasaur
The Velonasaur was initially introduced in the Extinction map and has found its way into Fjordur. You can find a few of them roaming around the volcano, specifically on coordinates 79.4, 82.8 right next to a small oil lake.
Tusoteuthis
The Tuso is a giant squid you can find underwater, specifically on coordinates 57.5, 51.1. You can find them in the deeper parts of the sea, though, so you’ll have to dive deep if you want to find and tame one.
