Ultimate Longbow Guide

If you like dealing a ton of damage from very long range, then the Longbow is the weapon you need. It is probably the strongest weapon in the game right now and one of the most popular ones too.

Stats

For your Basic Stats, you will mainly focus on Dexterity and Perception. Most of your early points will solely go into increasing Dexterity. You want to have at least 40 Dexterity before you put points into Perception.

For the other stats, your main priority should be on increasing ranged critical damage. Critical damage plays a big part in making Longbow builds as strong as they are. Alongside that also make sure to prioritize heavy attacks as well.

Skills and Passive

For your Skills, the best options are:

• Strafing: Perform multiple attacks rapidly. Can be cast additional times if you crit
• Decisive Sniping: Allows you to deal massive damage with an attack. Similar to Strafing, you can perform the attack again upon critical hits.
• Zephyr’s Nock: A very short cooldown instant arrow. Deals more damage to targets that are affected by a debuff.
• Ensnaring Arrow: This arrow is your main crowd control ability, as it has an 80% to bind the target.
• Nature’s Blessing: Unlike the other Skills, this Skill is mainly defensive.

Best options for the Passive’s:

• Rapidshot Stance: Increases attack speed and damage when you are stationary for at least 2 seconds.
• Firm Aim: Bonus critical damage to enemies affected by binds.
• Sniper’s Sense: Increases your critical hit chance and damage based on the distance between you and your target.
• Distorted Sanctuary: Increases damage based on party members in close vicinity.
• Roxie’s Arrowhead: Gives you a chance of firing an additional attack with each of your attacks. The chance of firing the additional attack increases if you are shooting in the wind direction.
• Ensnaring Loader: This gives you a chance to lower your Ensnaring Arrow cooldown when you kill an enemy.

There are plenty of other useful Skills you can go with alongside these Skills. You should always try to include Skills that are specifically suited to how you play.

Secondary Weapons

When it comes to your secondary weapons, the Longbow has access to some pretty strong choices in Throne and Liberty. One of the most obvious ones is the Crossbow, since it works well with the same Stats you have to focus on for the Longbow anyway.

However, the Longbow actually has more success when paired with either the Staff or the Wand & Tome instead. That might seem odd, but both of them are ranged weapons that can provide some extra versatility to every Longbow build. The Staff provides magical damage options, while Wand & Tome offer powerful buffs.

As such, we recommend the Longbow + Staff if you’re going for a DPS playstyle or the Longbow + Wand & Tome if you prefer a more versatile Support-oriented playstyle.

Playstyle

The Longbow build is a pretty straightforward build to play. You will mainly want to be behind the melee members in your party and try to be right at the edge of your range. The Ensnaring Arrow is your primary CC ability, so always try to cast it as much as you can.

Other than that you want to maximize your damage on bound enemies using your Skills and Passive effects. Always try to have your Nature’s Blessing Skill ready to gain a burst of health or get out of tricky situations.

Like all builds in this game, playing with the build is the best way to learn how to play it. Once you get the hang of your various Skills and weapons, you will start to feel much stronger.
